Aye, Gary's gone out of his way to make it a welcoming environment for us to spend the day/weekend in .... and the Beeb mugs were the icing on the cake! :)

Anyway, have just copied across some more photos from my camera and the 'mugshots' were a little better than the one I took with my phone (evidently the flash wasn't quite as blinding this time!).

Here are the last of my photos from Saturday.

Beebmaster was also very active with his camera so watch out for the round-up on http://www.beebmaster.co.uk soon I guess!

Brief pan of the room ...

Not sure what game John and Ian were playing on the Pi, but they seemed quite into it!!

John was winning, until he told me what the rules were, then I started winning, then just as I was about to win, the game crashed with a bug!

Had a great time yet again. Nice to meet all the regulars and a couple of new faces too! The venue is fantastic, many thanks to Gary for hosting us. I don't think I'll be driving there and back on the same day again as it was a pretty long day by the time I got home at 11:30pm.

See you in July!

Ian is quite right! However, that particular game does not depend on skill - just luck.

One thing I noticed whilst 'working' on that game, RISCOS pico has a tendency to corrupt BASIC programs when it saves them. I wasn't using the latest version, though, I admit.

I like the one I use because it announces I have a 224Mb computer. The latest version of pico has lost 32Mb somewhere and I get only 192Mb and when it has booted that has dropped to 96Mb. The latest version uses BASIC VI whilst the earlier version uses BASIC V.

More investigation is needed. :?

On another tack, thanks to Arcadian for all the photos. There is clearly a market at ABug for Grecian 2000!

Cabinet:
Gary beat me up on Street Fighter.
Dave beat me up on Mortal Kombat.
I was bad at Galaga and Galaga 88. I loved Galaga in the past and played it on MAME for a long time but my skills have left me!
I set a high score on Joust. I think that was the first time I played the arcade version and I now think Skirmish on the beeb is an absolutely fantastic conversion.
I had a quick go of Super Breakout for research into my current project.

Beeb:
Gary, Andrew (maybe not Andrew, possibly Bagpuss on the forum) and I had a bit of a mini competition where we played Meteors and Thrust and Andrew had a go of Revs - his skills also seem to have left him! Andrew then mentioned Astra Blaster was a favourite of his so I showed him Tricky's conversion and he was impressed.

Hi All

Just quick thanks to all those turned up, I think the weekend was a success.

As usual Dave was taking pictures and videos galore, though non of him self - i'll grab some images from the CCTV ;-) - hopefully Dave will post some more pictures.

If anyone has any comments positive or negative, or any ideas of what they would like to see for the next time ( there are three other planned events before year end ) - please contact me

I barely took any snaps today unfortunately (see below for the images) though Beebmaster was again very busy with the camera!

Hi all,

When speaking to Arcadian / DaveM last week, he told me that someone had dumped the ROMS from the System 3, would it be possible to have a copy to look at ? Also any disks would be interesting too, I guess these would be in Atom DOS / DFS format also.

Cheers.

Phill.

I've got the ROM images. I'm 100 miles from my computer at the moment, so can't upload them.

Hi Phill

Dave's System 3 base unit is still here, if you are visiting the ABuf event over the weekend, you can copy them from the eeprom

Wrong thread? This is the June one, but maybe you want the August one.

(I'm not in the market for Atom Dragon's Lair, but is there a Web site for it? I saw some kind of classified advertisement page for it, but something with the details for those of us not familiar with it would be interesting to look at.)
