Put me down as tentative. It's my mother's birthday, my daughters birthday and fathers day on the 21st and my daughter was having a party on the 20th. She's now having the party the following Saturday so if I'm very very very nice to my wife I may be able to drive down on the Saturday morning and back on the Saturday night.

It's not worth me staying overnight for such a short trip, so I'll either just come along on the Saturday and possibly the Sunday as well if I can get there and back again both days - there don't appear to be any trains to Bolton next weekend.

Can somebody Telex me the secret location?

I've booked the day off on friday, so I should be there sometime in the afternoon, so count me in for the curry.
Like beebmaster, it's not worth me booking a hotel for somewhere so local-ish, I'll drive up each day. I'm not a morning person (especially at the weekend) so I'll probably turn up sometime mid morning on saturday and sunday.

@beebmaster, it's a bit of a detour, but I can pick you up if you want.

If you do come could you bring my BNC to Phono video lead you borrowed at the last Halifax meet and I'll swap you for the UPURS boot ROM and assembler 3.5" disc you left in my disc drive?

I'm planning to bring Master 128 + 6502 cheese wedge + CF drive so we can get a Level 3 file server running.

Hi all,

Address for the abug event is,

Unit 23
queensbrook technology park
Spa Road
Bolton
BL1 4AY

( the post code in sat nav will take you straight to the business park )

Upon arrival at the business park there is a entry barrier, either

ring 07576 464175 and we will come and let you in.
Press '23' and then the bell symbol, and we will operate the barrier

If arriving after 4.30pm Friday, all day Saturday / Sunday, the security guards will let you in. There is plenty of car parking.

Any questions please reply.

Thanks
Gary

I thought this was all top secret?

Not that I'll be attending (although I'd love to) - would be a bit of a long weekend.

Google Maps is offering me 2 routes:

1 - A1 then M62
2 - A69 then M6 then M61

There are a lot of roadworks on the A1. I can easily bypass the 30 mph zone at the Metrocentre in Gateshead but I drove to York a couple of weeks ago seem to remember to long stretches of 50 mph with average speed cameras. Does anyone know if there are many roadworks on route 2 above. Google maps has route 2 at 6 miles further but if it's clear it will take a less time.
I reckon I'm about 95% certain to be there on Saturday.
Cheers,
Simon

Which building is Unit 23 in?

(I know Unit 7 is in building "B", so I'm guessing it's in C,D,G or H)

No sexy computer photos yet Phill, but here's the obligatory pre-event curry shot (which actually turned out to be a pre-event pizza at Frankie and Benny's).

I did film a little clip with my phone Phill that may be of interest ... let me see if can get it onto YouTube from my phone and I'll post a link if successful.

Simon (Sydney) is the first to arrive ... which is quite impressive as he's travelled down from Newcastle whilst the rest of us stayed locally!

Anyway, despite all the weird and wonderful Acorn kit scattered around the place - Simon made a beeline for the arcade cab, and is currently playing a Galaga game! :)

You know? I began to wonder if "Sleeping Policemen" should make an "Oof!" sound when you drive over them!

Speed-bumps shouldn't make painful noises AFAIK and I *did* leave a few moments later than they did and it *was* getting late!
