Pixel Perfect by AVP
Pixel Perfect by AVP
Hi all!
I'm trying to find a disk image of Pixel Perfect by AVP.
It's a DTP package for the Electron, reviewed in the Feb '89 issue of EU
Anybody come across this one?
Stuart

I've got this on disk. I'm not sure if it'll be one version compatible with both BBC and Electron. I'll try to image it ASAP

Hi Bill, did you have any joy with this one?

Better late than never?
I'd completely forgotten about this being requested and only rediscovered the thread when searching for details about AVP.
The catalogue was hidden by having VDU21 in the title.
Track 39 on both the MASTER and PAGE discs was formatted at 10 x 128 instead of the usual 10 x 256
This gave the size as 00 instead of the usual 01 in the sector headers, which is checked in BOOTER on MASTER DISC and !BOOT on PAGE DISC.
Both of the above files have some rudimentary encryption.
All of the BASIC programs were loaded @ &1900 via the file "?" and then EOR'd with the key which was the 2nd argument, ie. *RUN ? START [BASIC program] JOSHUA [KEY].
"?" had no encryption, so "RUN" was easily changed to "LI."
Since BASIC programs start with 0D and every byte was EOR'd with the same value, it wasn't difficult to decrypt them all, although it wasn't necessary to make the disk copyable.

Bill, do you happen to have any documentation for this? It seems a bit complicated to try and use it without instructions?
Re: Pixel Perfect by AVP
Hi All,
I designed this program with a university friend. We published it with AVP in the early 1990s. If you have any questions or need copies of the manuals etc, let me know!

I second that. The manuals are missing from the Educational Archive.
