Yup, I'll bring both of them.
And I'll have my Xilinx programmer too, so as long as we have Hoglet's code we should be able to program it.

Cheers.

Hi Dave

No I hadn't heard about it and I'm gutted ! I'd love to meet oss and hoglet :(

I'm supposed to be at Bletchley *and* at Cambridge Computer History this week and they're 160 miles away

I'll see what I can do though, 'cos I'd love to make it

Phil M

Is anyone sharing (going halfs) on the rooms?

I'd love to come but we start our holidays on Monday and I'll be doing double shifts at work this weekend to get a bit extra spending money. I don't think I'd be able to contribute much but I'm certain I'd learn more than enough to make it worth my while.

Is this going to become a regular thing? I ask because I'd be interested in regular meet ups and if there was enough notice I'd be able to attend every time. Could this be the start of a North of England Beeb user group? Maybe worth starting a new thread to discuss it?

Perhaps I'm reading too much into this - probably because it's something I've been thinking about since Wakefield'14 (probably '13 actually!). I've been meaning to make a thread to discuss this for a while now.

In preparation for the weekend, I've created a new Git repository containing Phill's RamRom board CPLD, plus my changes to add a BBC Mode:
https://github.com/hoglet67/AtomRamRom

Kees, are you planning to bring just your CPLD?

I'm wondering if anyone (Phill?) would be able to bring a few:
- XC9536XL CPLDs
- 39SF010A DIP 128Kx8 FLASH ROM chips
in case we need some spares.

Phil, if you make it I'm sure we can find you a pit to sleep in. I know I have a twin room and don't mind sharing. No complaints from Marcus (Garrettimus) when he came over for the Blackpool bash!

I'm only taking one bag of handluggage and my laptop with me to save a few hours waiting at the airport. I'm planning to bring my RAM/ROM board so not only the CPLD.

Do you want me to bring something else?

Hi Dave ... thanks for the kind offer. I seemed to remember Marcus saying he shared :)

I've got my camper van now and I WILL BE THERE but will probably "crash in the van" for my fourth and fifth nights "on the road" ... will make a donation drinks or cashwise for anyone who'll let me use their shower if I'm too "on the nose" by then :P

I'd probably have got on your nerves talking BBC OS Disassembly / BBC Basic trig function disassembly all night lol

Got lots of goodies and a lot to discuss with folks

Looking forward to it

See you there !

Hi all,

I have a couple of questions about the meeting room, if anyone is familiar with it.

Will there be plenty of table space? (i.e. do I need to bring my own table to work on)?

Plenty of power points? (I'll bring an extension cable or two..)

Is there internet access? Wired or wireless?

Starting to get quite excited now.....

That's a good point . . . I don't know why (?) but I was expecting a big boardroom type table :? Maybe Dave (Arcadian) can answer this one. Just in case he's not listening  I'll ring-up the hotel this morning and post the reply.

If you need a good socket extension - nip along to Aldi, they have a brilliant 10 socket extension, with surge arrester, for £9.99

I've contacted the hotel . . . There will be 6 x rectangular and 2 'half' tables available. I've also requested more tables, if available!

I'll bring one down, just-in-case as the receptionist didn't know the sizes!

I should be along at 9pm or so tonight. Looking forward to it!
I'll be bringing a couple of power extension cables, along with 2 monitors, a Datacentre Beeb, Elk with UPURS and my laptop.

And a foldaway trolley if I can fit it in. Useful for hauling boxes from the car - everyone is welcome to use it if they want

Hi, sorry for the late reply!

We've got what's in the room (6 large tables + the 2 halves, as DaveH pointed out) plus I'm supplying 10 smaller tables. So we should be fine bearing in mind the numbers I think.

> Plenty of power points? (I'll bring an extension cable or two..)

There are power points scattered around the walls but if everybody can bring a few multi-socket adaptors that would be great. I've got a couple of long (10m + 20m) extensions that I'm bringing, plus some 10-ways.

> Is there internet access? Wired or wireless?

No wired but Wifi is £3 for 24 hours or £10 for a week.

Btw, I've got a stash of TVs with BBC/Scart cables just around the corner, so if anyone needs extra screens that shouldn't be a problem.

Dave H estimated between 3pm-4pm so he should be with you soon.

I'm likely to get there just before 6pm (with the extra tables in my boot!).

Well, I arrived last yesterday evening, just to make a fashionable entrance (curse you, A14 and M6!).

This morning everyone started bright and early(ish) ... for those wondering what an Acorn Mini-Hackfest looks like, here's a little panoramic to get across the buzz and excitement as people wield soldering irons to great effect, whilst trying to avoid setting alight each other's beards!

Feel free to play guess who ... :)

Sam.
