Hi All,
Just re-posted Disc108 in Section 9.
This is because of a bug fix by Tricky to the controls to his Frogger game when using it via a ROM.

Hi All,
Just re-posted Disc045 in Section 4.
This is because the instructions for Chess from Micro Power were slightly wrong. They have now been copied from their inlay. Note the version on this disc is the Model B only version using Mode 1 graphics. An early Model A version with Mode 7 text graphics has now been found and put onto AltD015, which will be released once full.

Hi All,
Just re-posted Disc113 in Section 10.
This is because I have been sent the instructions for Mexico '86' from Qual-Soft. They have now been typed in. You can press Escape to skip them.
Thanks to Terry for the inlay.

Hi All,
Just re-posted Disc 024 in Section 3.
This is because I have added some better instructions to Space rescue from D.A.C.C. from an advert posted on Stardot. I really could do with seeing the inside of the inlay for the tape, but not at ebay prices!

Also, Two Slow Game allows you to save any changes to the game you make to disc (only if the disc is write-enabled).
Also, Gun-Fight and Shocker have had their keys changed for better use under emulation with a QWERTY keyboard.
Lastly, Submarine Simulator may be missing a further 2 war zones inc. The Mediterranean (as per advert pic) and therefore disc space has been left on this disc to allow for any additional files for this game that maybe found later on.

COMPILATIONS: Hoppit from CompAid was released as part of their "SW-Games 1" compilation.
Also, Noughts And Crosses from Cascade were released as part of their "Cassette 50" compilation.

Also, the instructions for Lunar Lander, Pistol Shooting, Gobbler, Gun-Fight and Moonfleet were created from their magazines/books.

SPECIALLY CREATED INSTRUCTIONS: The instructions for Hoppit were created specially from the original disc menu program.

LOCKING/RESET: Night Ninja by Chris Bradburne requires both CTRL and BREAK pressing together after playing the game to prevent the computer from locking up due to code being stored low down in memory.

MAGAZINE TYPE-IN GAMES: Lunar Lander, Gun-Fight and Moonfleet were only available as a type-in from their magazines/books.

EASTER EGGS: If you press ESCAPE during some of the loaders and instructions, then you can skip to loading the game... This only works on Matrix: Grid Runner 2.

All original filenames have been kept where possible, but some have been changed where they conflict with the limitations of the Disc Filing System. Copy protection routines have been removed.
This disc has also been checked for *KEY related issues and is OK.

Enjoy!

Your list has better descriptions 'cos it's from the forum post itself; my list is generated from the menu on each disk and so has less information (and then I truncate it even more to fit into 4 columns, otherwise the page just gets too long and hard to read).

Hi all,
Wow!, I never knew the disc version of Imogen was the only version with the passwords.
BITD I transferred the tape copy and never thought about looking at the disc version as I thought it would be the same.
Thanks for pointing this error of mine out.
I have now copied the disc version over to D029 in Section 3 and amended my instructions to include details from the disc inlay about saving and loading your score/position etc.
Also corrected a slight error with the password for Screen B in my original instructions and can also confirm that all passwords work and all relevant sections load correctly.

Created in December 2022... here is Games Disc 167.
Disc167.zip
(125.6 KiB) Downloaded 52 times
The disc is called Disc167.dsd so it can be loaded into a Datacentre on a real BBC without having to rename it.

The 18 games on this disc include...

Mazy from Inufuto.
Chaser (2P) (E) from The Electron User (1.08).
Othello from 8-Bit Software (CJR-01).
Lady Bug (+ Editor) (V3392) (RAM) (STD) from Love Byte Software.
Tank Battle (OS 1.2) from BBC PD (Disc 83).
Voida Part II (AKA Voida II) (STD) (WTD) from Telesoftware (Ceefax).
Computer Crossword from Beebnet (Beebnet Col. Vol.1).
Squash (Arcade Challenge) from Brilliant Computing.
Reversi (9 Classic Card & Board Games Vol.1) from Database Software.
Grand National (Family Games) (Cassette 2) from IJK Software Ltd.
Santa On The Rooftop from 8-Bit Software (TBI-141).
The Maze Engine from Crash Barrier.
Stockmarket from Personal Computing Today (3.04).
Bootskell from Inufuto.
Jetbike (E) from The Electron User (6.10).
Lander by J. G. Banks.
Vexed (STD) by Iggypop.
Flip from Telesoftware (Ceefax).

NOTE: Chaser is an Electron title that has been amended to run on a BBC Micro.
Also, Lady Bug allows you to save your score/position to disc. It also allows you to create and save your own screens.
Also, Voida Part II allows you to save your score/position to disc. It will try to write to disc once you get to a certain score. It will error back to the start if write-protected.
Also, Computer Crossword has had its "Reveal" and "Finished" keys changed for better use under emulation with a QWERTY keyboard.
Also, Squash has had its "Left" and "Right" keys changed for better use under emulation with a QWERTY keyboard.
Also, Santa On The Rooftop has had its "JUMP" key changed for better use under emulation with a QWERTY keyboard.
Also, Jetbike is an Electron title that seems to work OK on a BBC Micro.
Lastly, Vexed allows you to save your score/position to disc.

COMPILATIONS: Squash from Brilliant Computing was released as part of their "Arcade Challenge" compilation.
Also, Reversi from Database Software was released as part of their "9 Classic Card & Board Games Vol.1" compilation.
Lastly, Grand National from IJK Software was released as part of their "Family Games" compilation.

INSTRUCTIONS: The instructions for Mazy and Bootskell were created from their original Japanese instructions on the author's website.
Also, the instructions for Santa On The Rooftop were created from a file on the original disc.

MAGAZINE TYPE-IN GAMES: Stockmarket was only available as a type-in from its magazine/book.

OS 1.0 GAMES: Tank Battle from BBC PD has been amended to allow you to destroy the tanks correctly with OS 1.2.

RAM: Lady Bug from Love Byte Software requires 1 spare bank of sideways RAM in order to work. It was released on disc with a file that loads into RAM. It works OK with BeebEm 4.14 upwards and B-em 2.2 and should work OK on a real BBC Micro with Sideways RAM or with a Datacentre fitted.

DOWNLOADED FROM TELESOFTWARE: Some games were available as downloads via teletext services such as Ceefax or Oracle using a BBC Micro teletext adaptor. Some games were also available from other sources such as Micronet 800 via a BT Prestel modem.

EASTER EGGS: If you press ESCAPE during some of the loaders and instructions, then you can skip to loading the game... None on this disc.

MILESTONE: Upon completion of this disc I have collected more than 3,000 games.

All original filenames have been kept where possible, but some have been changed where they conflict with the limitations of the Disc Filing System. Copy protection routines have been removed.
This disc has also been checked for *KEY related issues and is OK.

Happy Xmas!
Mick.

Disc 168 will be out next year!

Edit: This disc now included the latest versions of Lady Bug (from Mar 2024) and Vexed (from May 2023).

(101.1 KiB) Downloaded 559 times
The disc is called Disc168.dsd so it can be loaded into a Datacentre on a real BBC without having to rename it.

The 18 games on this disc include...

Lift from Inufuto.
Racer (E) from The Electron User (2.05).
Pontoon from 8-Bit Software (Issue 11).
Crosswords (Disc Version) (STD) from Highlight Software.
Magic Squares (V2) by R. D. Hyde.
Computer Yahtzee (C) from BBC PD (Disc 72).
Rapids (Arcade Challenge) from Brilliant Computing.
Pairs (9 Classic Card & Board Games Vol.1) from Database Software.
Silly (AKA A Silly Program) by ???
Sliding Block Puzzle from 8-Bit Software (Issue 33).
The British Isles by ???
3D Maze Program by ???
Fruit Machine (E) from The Electron User (1.08).
Draw Poker by G. J. Foxwell.
Hang Man (2P) by Paul Forrest.
Ruptus from Inufuto.
Flags from RM Software (Beebnet).
Bug from Secundus.

NOTE: Racer and Fruit Machine are both Electron titles that seem to work OK on a BBC Micro.
Also, Rapids has had its "Left" and "Right" keys changed for better use under emulation with a QWERTY keyboard.
Lastly, Sliding Block Puzzle has had its CHECK PICTURE key changed from @ to 0 for better use under emulation with a QWERTY keyboard.

DISC VERSIONS: Crosswords from Highlight Software is the disc version and allows you to load/save your own crosswords to a blank disc.

COMPILATIONS: Rapids from Brilliant Computing was released as part of their "Arcade Challenge" compilation.
Also, Pairs from Database Software was released as part of their "9 Classic Card & Board Games Vol.1" compilation.

INSTRUCTIONS: The instructions for Lift and Raptus were created from their original Japanese instructions on the author's website.
Also, the instructions for Racer were created from its magazine/book.
Lastly, the instructions for Pontoon and Sliding Block Puzzle were created from a file on their original discs.

COMPACTED GAMES: Computer Yahtzee from BBC PD has been compacted using PRES Advanced BASIC Editor in order to allow it to work correctly on a BBC Model B 32K. It was originally written for the Master 128K.

EASTER EGGS: If you press ESCAPE during some of the loaders and instructions, then you can skip to loading the game... None on this disc.

All original filenames have been kept where possible, but some have been changed where they conflict with the limitations of the Disc Filing System. Copy protection routines have been removed.
This disc has also been checked for *KEY related issues and is OK.

Happy New Year!
Mick.

Disc 169 will be out soon!

Hi all,
I have just re-posted Disc012 in Section 2. The reason is I have corrected spelling and grammar to the Knight Lore instructions thanks to careful eyes by a fellow forum member.

regards,
Mick.

Hi all,
I have just re-posted Disc024 in Section 3. The reason is that I have now copied the disc version of Repton 3's Editor over the old tape copy thanks to reports from forum members about issues saving files. Remember to swap the disc for a blank one upon loading the editor and to make sure it is write-protected to avoid errors.
I never really played around with this BITD so I cannot confirm if the issues are related to the tape version or if it is emulation error. I would suspect the later though, given other games that have issues with file DFS under emulation!

BTW I have not touched the main game files as they contain the fungus bug fixed version.

regards,
Mick.

Do you mean "isn't" (rather than "is")?
