Though which Phoenix will rise from the ashes?

That looks just the place for a big telly and speakers, into which the next generation of computing pleasure can be plugged for the next bloke.

That alcove could see its best days yet!

Better than 3 beebs, countless ZX81s, several Spectrums, an Apple IIe and 2 C64s?

Well, I guess 4 beebs would be better!

Yes. And moving in general! About £92 per week for the short term storage. :|

I don't like gluing things to my lid as I like to be able to remove the lid and continue working. With a little bit of careful adjustment, a DataCentre can be mounted "downstairs" internally in a Master:

You obviously need a right-angle adapter if using a Compact Flash card, which is in the post.

Amazing pictures everyone.

I'm a bit slow to the party on this one but here is my loft-based-mancave-retro-area. Time to extend the desk I think!

I found some time over the holidays to get my office set back up. I have managed to squeeze in 9 machines (not including the laptop) that can be used with only a modicum of cable shuffling. I’m on a bit of a ‘next gen’ trip for 2020 hence the Atari ST, Amiga and Archie.

Of course it’ll all get destroyed again in a few weeks when I have to pack for ABUG.

And here's my line up..about four months ago I set up my pasting table in a corner of my loft and unpacked my Acorn collection. I've still got a bit of sorting out to do but it's taking shape :)

This is my new setup here in California. It's an Ikea "Bror" workbench cart. I don't use my BBC super often so this way the entire thing can be wheeled away without having to unplug anything, except one power cable. Works well!

I may be adding my Archimedes A3020 to the shelf underneath.

Well not quite there...

Currently re-building (new floor and new roof) my cave which was acquired from the old lady over the road. Yes the outside will need a clean and re-treated (but the wood is all solid) and the leaped windows will be replaced. Eventually it will be insulated and I’ll do a double skin on the windows. Tools and workbenches will be down window side, garden equipment etc in left nearest corner and furthest away corner will be retro computer, got an old marantz hifi and so in

14.5ft x 10ft so should be grand. That’s as it stands today so roof planks go on this week, bitumen paint over whole roof then the felt. Once inside is a little dryer the 2nd proper tongue and groove floorboards go on top of the base floor so can destroy old wee shed and start getting stuff in here.

So best photo I have is gear and partly re-built shed :(

Plus have some PI’s and added a 2nd elk in preparation for UltraULA and would like to add Archimedes and a RISC pc over time. Got a few rgb TV’s and a largish flat screen for pi’s etc. Oh and a scart switcher as well.

This capacitor let out a lot of wax when I managed to turn it on (it's full of valves).

Once I've swapped out the capacitors in it, I'm hoping it eventually will though (it dates from about 1954).

My current setup, spread across 2 parts of my loft.

2 x Elks, one with Ramtop's ElkSD Mk2, the other with a just acquired Plus1, more to come in the near future. That's my 8 bit desk.

A3010 4MB with IanS CF Card fitted, along with Gotek running through the expansion cover, on a BENQ BL912 monitor, and a RPi3B running RISC OS 5.27 on a AOC 1440p screen (this is also where my Windows PC goes).

Ok , so I figured I have been annoying enough people on this
forum for long enough now that I merit a pic or two on here to
to revive this thread .

As infantile as it is, I am somewhat chuffed with how I first setup my
cave and then upgraded it over this past couple of years since June 2021
when this retro Beeb neurosis began.

Now my A5000 is back fully working again, I finally found some time to finish off my Acorn/Retro corner in my home office (aka the shed). I can now use all the machines at once, and they are all within touching distance :-D
