C+VG mags

Post by Fraser »

There is a growing number of magazine scans at WOS. How about having links to anything on Acorn computers. For instance here is a review of Temple of Terror: ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sincl ... 000079.jpg

This game doesn't have a cover scan here.

Personal Computer Games was always my top computer magazine, more so than the BBC specific magazines. So thanks for the link - I'll be downloading all those scans and printing them out!

One thing I've always remembered is that Elite wasn't awarded Game of the Month. If I remember correctly, in a later issue they said they had only seen the disc version when the review was done and that they would of made it Game of the Month if they'd had the tape version as well.

I just had a quick look at their review of Elite, my favourite quote....

"the most breath taking 3D graphics I've ever seen"

Funny now, but a true statement 22 years ago.

Its worth considering buying copies of the scanned sets from Mort (the guy who spends most of his spare time scanning these mags in). He provides a really good service to the retro world and makes very little profit on them (as he has worn out numerous scanners!):
