Has anyone information on a particular sidescrolling beat-em-up for the Beeb? The game I'm thinking of must have seen it about '87 or '88. I only remember seeing magazine screenshots of it (not unlike a single-player Double Dragon). Very colourful (MODE2 if I recall correctly - 8 proper colours, 8 flashing) in a smaller screen than normal for the BBC. I believe it was advertised as needing a minimum of an extra 8K sideways RAM.

Does this ring any bells? Or am I thinking of some public domain game? The reason I ask is obviously it caught my attention, and I'd love to play the damn thing if at all possible.

Ae you sure it wasn't an Archimedes game? There were several like that for the Arc.

Not Barbarian 1, or 2, or Subway Vigilante, or WOTEF, Karate Combat, or BFMOF, etc. etc.

hmm some more
certainly weren't many beat 'em ups released for the 8 bit Acorns...

and there were only a couple of games put out that would only run with extra memory available. so i really doubt that this was one...

could it have been Yie-Ar Kung-Fu?

if not then i'd have to err towards 'other platform'.

Not Green Beret?

Fits the MODE 2, side-scrolling bit, not so good on the beat 'em up aspect, and...hmmm... didn't need any extra RAM....

Nah, probably isn't that is it?

It's not all that good either. Forget I said anything.
