I bought my BBC B new in 1982 and then a PC in 1988 but kept the Beeb running mainly for teletext but then it was packed away. It appeared from time to time but just beeped and flashed a dash on screen. I thought the issue was just the keyboard connector but never go around to looking at it.
Last month I decided to do something about it and switched it on again after many years and not a surprise but the PSU blew up. Keen to get going again I sent to Retroclinic for a complete overhaul. It seemed there were several faults probably because kit had been added and removed over years.
It came back last Friday and I spotted a post about ABUG. As this isn't too far from Reading I dropped in on Saturday as I had other places to be. It was great to see that the Beeb was alive and well. Surprising how much I remember after 30 plus years but there's a lot to catch up.
Next task is to see if any of my disk drives and disks work so I can transfer to my Gotek.
I also bought the PiTube Co Pro as I had used Z-80 and 512 co-pros before.

Hello. I too have just got some Gotek drives for the Beeb. I like the combination of modern tech with the authentic feel of using them. Great little devices.
