How often do you use your Acorn(s) computer(s)?...

I wanted to ask this for many years...


If you have several types of Acorn computers like I have

such as Atoms, Elks, Beebs, Archies & RISC PC’s...


How often do you actually use them?,,

on a daily, weekly, monthly base or through the year(s)?...


I understand if you have programming &/or electronics skills it would be (far) more than I do...


But I’m just a game player, so no programming/electronics skills or what so ever...


I love all my Acorn computers & apart of some gaming now & then

I barely use them, also due the lack of space...

BBC micro/Master - daily.

A5000 - weekly

Others very rarely, which is why I recently downsized.

I tend to use emulation for programming

For real hardware

First BBC Model B - never as it's a backup,
Second BBC Model B - Weekly,
BBC Master - Weekly
2 RiscPC's - Mothballed - need to find time to fix them

Acorn Electron - Never (or at least not for 25+ years). I thought I would fire it up for @0xC0DE's Electron ports but so far I haven't.
A5000 Alpha - Never (Awaiting motherboard battery leak repair since I bought it 2 years ago)
A310 - Never (I only bought it 2 weeks ago, waiting to make up a SCART video cable to use it)

BBC Master 128
Daily to host the BBS, and when it's not hosting it's usually being used to test out new features I've written up in BeebEm. Or on occasion browse other BBS or edit teletext graphics.
A couple of times a year I use it to do a little newsletter we send out to realtives with their greetings cards letting them know what we've been up to (as non of us are on social media) although I must confess I do print the photos on afterwards having created the newsletter on the beeb leaving place holders for the images.
Anything that is typed to be printed/posted I will do using Interword. More recently I'm starting to get in to the habit of sending emails from the beeb.
...so basically any excuse I can find

at thw moment, with gcses and revision needed, i only get to use my beeb around once a week. hope to up that after exams

BBC Model B gets used a couple of times a week for coding and sometimes more when time allows. My A3010 get’s used fortnightly at the moment mainly as there’s not enough hours in the day. More time will be available soon though and that was the plan

I have years of Electron BASIC coding books to catch up on so I type in a type-in or two every day or so; and give a game a whirl every now and then. Have been doing so since rediscovering the Electron a couple of years ago.
