Monitor for use with Electron

Post by tomlinson »

Before I waste my time could anyone tell me whether this monitor is suitable to use directly with the Electron?

A Google of Samsung and LS19DOWSS suggests it does support PAL frequency RGB Scart connection with an appropriate lead as well as composite video input, but there are frequently variations between models available in different areas with what appear to be the same model numbers - but there's clearly a Scart socket and RCA video connectors on your images so you should be fine.

1-2. Connecting EXT.(RGB) - It only applies to AV DEVICE that supports SCART.
Connect to the DVD Devices input if the device has a EXT (RGB) jack.
You can watch DVD simply by hooking up the DVD player with the monitor as long as the power is on

And

RCA Cable (Video-Yellow,

Audio-Red and White)

Thanks for the input.

I'll collect it and give it a go... hopefully it's working!

Or you could try one of these, assuming the current production models still have a SCART connector on them:

The monitor appears to have UHF, component, scart, vga and DVI inputs, so altho' no HDMI, S-video or composite, a somewhat useful monitor.

It definitely has HDMI, it's on the side of the back panel, along with USB.

I think you mean the Ferguson monitor, not the Samsung model.
The Samsung model also appears to have S-video on the side panel, you can just about see in the small pictures under the main one.
