Hello from an increasingly passionate user

Post by garethQ »

Hi all, I first touched a Beeb in South Africa as a kid in the 80's. Unfortunately it was broken. But when I went on a computer camp a year or so later, we used Electrons to learn BASIC and I was rather impressed with it compared to the C64 we had at home.

Flash forward a few decades, I have become increasingly impressed at how amazing this set of machines were and are. I ended up using BBC BASIC as the version to use when I did a series in Pixel Addict magazine on the history and modern uses. Loved the way you could just draw graphics with no peeks or pokes.

I doubt I will be contributing much, but I am sure I will have loads of questions, so apologies up front if they are stupid.

Welcome, do you have links to those articles? Although, I don't do BASIC ;)
As I keep telling our new grad's, the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask, although sometimes they prove me wrong

I think I started the series around issue 6 and ran for 5 instalments. I do plan on going back to it, but some other priorities need to be taken care of first. I will double check when I get home tonight, but here is the link to the magazine.
