Hello from East Kilbride

Post by PMS »

Hi everybody!

In the 1980's I had a company called Permanent Memory Systems (PMS) who created and sold hardware and software for the Acorn range of 8 bit micros.

Together with 2 friends, Brian and Derek, we developed the 64K RAM Module, B2P and E2P second processors, Genie pop-up organiser, Multi-Font NTQ, The Publisher and various other bits of BBC related hardware and software.

PMS closed down in the early 90's.

I recently resurrected my interest in 8-bit micros and dug out, from the attic, a BBC Masters and to my surprise got it working.

I found a Genie in a box of bits and (apart from it not coping with dates in the 21st century)
Working Genie!
Working Genie!
it worked!

I am looking forward to re-learning stuff about my BBC.

I still have loads of stuff - manuals, ROMS, disk from my days in PMS.

Cheers!

Great to have you as a member- it sounds like you have lots of experience to contribute to the forum. Quite a few modern hardware projects ongoing that I'm sure will be of interest to you.

Welcome!

I managed to recreate the E2P a few years ago, and its original creator John Wike joined this forum and made some amazing improvements to it. He also recreated the PMS product Hi Wordwise Plus, which appeared to be lost - so if you have a real copy of that, it would be really interesting.
