Make links open in a new window
I find this site has not set the target to be _blank when following a link, thus it's easy to close the page I clicked on and end up having to navigate through the browsing history to find where I was.

It's what middle-click is for. Also, the recently-closed tabs menu along with Ctrl+Shift+T to reopen the last-closed tab can help a lot

On windows hold down ctrl when you click a link. Setting target=blank would not be a nice thing to do. I personally would find it highly annoying.
Re: Make links open in a new window
This is the same as right-click the link and select 'open in new tab' FYI

Re: Make links open in a new window
Ah, I'm not using the PC to navigate the site. I guess I have to remember to long hold on the link and open in new tab. It's the only website I have to remember when clicking on a link that leaves the forum pages. If I visit a site that's controlled by a privacy container, then I can't go back and have to rely on calling up the history. Anyway, I'm outvoted, I'll just carry on as before.

Re: Make links open in a new window
In Firefox, I have it set to open links to different domain names in a new tab with the usual single-left-click, though I don't remember how I did that. It may be an add-on that does it.
For links on the same website, like the forum, my mind is now conditioned to do right-click "open in new tab" when I want multiple tabs from the same site.
I didn't even know CTRL-left-click was a shortcut for this till I read this thread! Let's see how long it takes my mind to re-train itself just to press CTRL.
