how to play acorn twinworld on windows 11?

Hi - I have used the BBC micro. a3000 and risc pcs in school as a teacher. however I am now retired and looking for advice on how to emulate an acorn
machine on windows 11 so I can play twinworld.

I'm going to follow this with interest as I only learnt yesterday that the game I remember playing is called Twin World so I'll be happy to try and emulate it myself although I'd be wanting an emulator that can run on Linux

This is Arculator 2.1 (I should update to 2.2), RO 3.1, A5000 configuration, using the .hfe disk image on arcarc mounted as Floppy 0

This is one of my favourite Arc games ever.

Actually, you don't need to download the ROMs - they look like they're in the latest version. Just extract the zip and double click on "arculator.exe" - you get a configuration manager. The little icon on the left with the + lets you add a configuration. I'd just set up an A5000 without any hard disk, choose the defaults. Then to use twinworld, download the "hfe" from arcarc.nl above, use the disc menu in arculator to "change drive 0" and browse to the HFE file you downloaded. Double click on the floppy icon within arculator and then double click on the game application to run it. Alt-tab will get you out of the arculator window, or click within the arculator window for it to capture the mouse. That should be all you need.

Arculator actually comes with everything you need here, however you will have to configure a virtual machine to play Twin World on.

Download and extract Arculator. When you launch it, follow these steps:

1) Click the "New" button at the bottom left

2) Give your virtual machine a name

3) Choose a corresponding predefined configuration

4) I increased the default memory to 4mb and set the monitor to Standard - the vast majority of games ran well on Standard monitors.

5) Press OK when you're done editing, then select the newly created machine, and click "Load" over on the top right. This will boot your newly configured machine up.

6) From the Disc menu at the top, select "Change drive :0"

7) Browse to the disc image you downloaded earlier, select it and press Open.

Now you have virtually inserted the "floppy" into the machine, simply left click on the :0 floppy drive icon in the bottom left to open the root of the floppy, double click on the game to launch it.

Just a thought - is it possible to increase the size of the emulated window?

pps
it says to press ctrl end to release the mouse from the emulated window
which is the 'end' key?
I have found that the windows key works
