Folks , the Night Owl host
is now up Monday 25th.

Pleased to announce the BBS now has CET downloads
available. Not much available on there as yet just a few games
and small demos, however it's great fun just to download
like Prestel/Micronet 800 BITD.

Thanks to Vela025 (BeeBS Sysop) for his help with testing,
Chris Royle for his long time support and Ashley Frieze for his sublime downloader
program.


More files to come hopefully.

thanks for coming on tonight .. I have given you full email
access and was sending you a message on there when I got kicked off
myself...(very weird). Someone tried to login , and Tcpser registered it to the
Beeb and it somehow tried to answer. When I eventually got back in and finished your mail
someone else logged in , initially I thought it was you , then I realised it was actually
Ken L, who stayed on for a chat.

Will look out for you tomorrow . BBS will be up about 1-2pm.

after some tail chasing I have the Bridge working and
I've transferred some files over to it. Will sort out the Night Owl Host files
tomorrow.

The Night Owl BBS is now up (late start tonight) but will run into the
wee small hours.

downtime..

Had 4 callers last night which was great.
Two of whom were new and one who hadn't visited in a while.

if you'd like to contribute to the Mailbox fun especially if I recognise
you from Stardot or you identify yourself as a 'Stardotter'
( apologies if that's not an actual thing? )

I can't grant access to anyone immediately as there is enough
bot activity out there to make that a bit unwise.

I can upgrade your access immediately if I am online when you are.

Oh and some new progs are in the Telesoftware area now.
It's filling up nicely with some simple demos and some left-field or obscure games which may have slipped under the radar of many. There is one pretty avid downloader among the callers already. CET only.

My Model B is off for an Econet install so I will be working on some new
content now as I have nothing else to distract me while I have
only the one machine. Maybe another interview and some ART frames
I might do. I have a couple of candidates who have sort of agreed to
let me interview them ..

I've tried to connect a few times with the BBC. Is the telnet SSL encryption only or does it support clear text?

Hi Mark , I saw some unsuccessful attempts on my TCPser feed so I presume it was you ?

How exactly did you try to connect?

I did switch off around 10:30pm as traffic seemed dead and only one caller last night.
I also had a frame to add so made sense to shut down. I hope I didn't prevent you getting on?
If a particular time suits you this evening let me know and I will make sure it is up.

It doesn't use SSH or other , just normal Telnet I believe.
So I would say no for SSL encryption . I'm no expert on IP protocols so you might need to educate me
somewhat.

There are over 90 frames of Viewdata art and info in the Gallery
section now. And there must be 500 pages of unexplored stuff on BeebFAX.
