The controls are very twitchy and the jumps are brutally precise but a little buggy, to me anyway, made it to level 2 but couldn't progress any further.

Yep, those controls are difficult. This score was from repeated attempts at level 1 but now that I can sometimes get to level 2 my score is much worse. I think I have seen how to do it but may have to wait until I'm back from holiday near the end of the round.

Here's my first few goes today. It is a little bit fiddly, especially on the rope swings, but it's still a solid platformer, just as I remember from my Electron days. I haven't played for probably approaching 35 years or so but I do remember completing the game in my youth

I cannot get on with this game at all so will happily post this up and accept my last place. Brutally sensitive game, not one for me.

I do agree that it's a pretty sensitive game and may not be for the faint-hearted. All I can say though is thank God you haven't played a REALLY brutally sensitive game like Elementum. Not that the game isn't brilliant, with great, responsive controls, but that one certainly separates the men from the boys.

Inching along, I classify each screen with either brutal or punishingly brutal.

It is a good game with decent animation and a perfect trigger mechanism for getting me to whisper obscenities under my breath

Completed it once, and not far off completing it the 2nd time around. To be fair, there are some really fiendish levels on this game and I don't think the game gets the credit it deserves. I'll try to get a walkthrough on YouTube, but not before the end of the round; I wouldn't want to be giving any secrets away

Just a note folks,

I've created the nomination thread for next season. Please be timely about this one as I'll be travelling on the Sunday before season's start and would like to have your game ready for the Monday so Friday 9 PM UK time will be the cutoff. That gives us a week, hopefully it will be long enough.

Thanks very much,
Ed...... :-)

Quite a frustrating game that really, really punishes players for lack of consistency  definitely some fun levels later that require working carefully through before committing. As per usual I ran out of time, I was getting close to completion, I'm not sure how many levels, I am assuming 16? Oddly, I tried to post my score but kept getting a MySQL "I've run out of space" error  I'll look forward to Venger's walk-through, just to see how the rest of the game should be played (I don't think I'll be playing this one again though)

I've got the run on video (only up to, and including, the final level), I'm just waiting until the round's finished before posting it on YouTube. There are 22 levels in all, by the way :) .

You shouldn't be having this difficulty of not getting at least a starter score. The keys are just z, x, * (up) or jump. Even if you're failing to get the level finished you should be able to get enough to get on the score board........I use only those 3 keys (because that's how the game is set up). The game is a bit finicky if you're not consistent with jumping but still you should be able, with 4 lives, to get a starter score. Also, John Gage is not a great gamer in most of his games so you're a better gamer from what I've seen, that's not to slight John, that's part of what makes his videos entertaining but I've seen you do well on difficult games. This is one of those 'difficult', pixel perfect type games.....

I like John Gage's videos (because he gets wound up so easily and swears a lot!) but he's definitely not the person to watch if you want to get good at games, or even take tips. As an entertainer he's good fun to watch, but as a gamer, he's absolutely awful! I'm going to put a video up with a walkthrough of the game (all 22 levels) after the round has finished. In the meantime, I'll do a video of the first level, just for you. It really isn't that hard, but it is quite fast so you need pretty decent reflexes.
