I've completed level 11 in the past, in fact I think also 12 but not so far this time. One cup away from completing 11.....small increase.....

Got through 11 now, have seen 12, actually with 3 lives too but failed miserably. I remember 12 and have been through it before but not yet in this go around. Anyway, my score......

Todays effort, made it to level 16, the timing to jump the birds has to be perfect, my timing was not perfect #-o

It felt like a super lucky run as I only had one life left from level 11 after a couple of bad attempts.

Thanks guys, I've kept plugging away at this one hoping for a lucky run, I like the simplistic design and (mostly) good controls.

I had a practice run with save states to see how far the levels go, appears to wrap around after the 16th level and I didn't notice any difficuly change. Didn't notice any extra lives being awarded so it will come down to whom ever can stay alive the longest and have amazing luck with the monkey wrenches and especially the barrel stage at level 13? or is it 14... one of those...

Had another little go today and got to level 14 and died due to a stupid mistake in the end. For me, levels 7 and 13 are the real tough ones. Level 7 is made artificially tough due to the gauntlet you have to run by the two wrench-throwing monkeys, when you have to catch and jump up the ladder (due to random wrench-throwing intervals). Level 13 is made difficult by one pixel-perfect jump, timed in between one of Kong's barrel throws, and more wrench-throwing monkeys. All the rest of the levels (up to and including 14), are far easier. I can't really speak for levels 15 and 16 because I haven't seen them (yet!).

Another hour or so and I've only gotten to level 15 a couple of times. Level 13 is still a real pain to get past.

I forced myself to try and complete all 16 levels. I did get to level 23 (my 225810 score) but didn't get that run on video. I wanted a video of a walkthrough on my channel though so made myself go through it all again, which was painful (my 169630 score). I won't be posting the video until after the round is over though.

There is a slight difference in that the timer starts at 899 instead of 999 at the start of level 17. The monkeys may be more aggressive too (not sure really) as I got hit by a cheap shot to the back of the head on level 17 early on, whereas I wouldn't have on level 1.

Wow! @Venger I've been playing this on and off for a week or so, the dead-line looms, so here's my scores. I saw level 15 once, the dodgy collision detection works both ways  I do wonder if the Hard Hat Harry is based on the US kids show that has a kinda Village People vibe to it

I had a few attempts trying to capture a walkthrough but couldn't string it all together, either losing a life or two along the way to level 13 and once I got through 13 with all lives but then lost them cheaply on 14. Onto the next round!

High Score Tables Updated for Season 20, Round 05......

This game is pretty smooth and as a platformer it fulfills it's function. Some think the collision is off but I don't think so. I just think the area for collision is rather large but.....it's consistent and that's about all you can hope for in 8 bit computer games.

Anyway we do have a winner ....... the winner is once again Venger with an absolutely absurd score of over 225k which is dang good in this game. Congratulations on a great high score and win Venger. =D> =D> =D>

On a side note I'd like to thank all those who played this round. We had 9 playing this game this round so.....Thank you!!! It seems we are mostly averaging out at 11 so this participation is way below average.

As usual please check to ensure I've not missed anyone's scores because it's easy to miss things on this and I really don't want to do that for anyone's hard earned score.

There were so many ways to fail, due to the randomness of the game in some parts. I like to take risks a lot when I play games and you do get punished a lot for taking risks in this game. I lost count of the times I died on level 1, due to a stray and unexpected wrench in the face, and decided to kill myself off as there was no Escape key option :( .

Yes, same for me, I probably played level one more than any other level. My rule was lose a life before 4 and kill myself off and start again. If we ever do this again, I will change that once i'm in 'game shape' and lose no lives until you hit 7. It's just to easy to lose lives if you're a bit careless or slightly or even greatly tired so........next time, before level 7 to make it a better experience.
