Twitchy controls and brutal hazards on every platform if you try to drop stright down or jet up too far.

Had a couple of goes. I agree that the controls are a bit twitchy but I've seen worse.

Oh yeah... Don't play level 5. The collision detection is absolutely shocking.

A slight increase. Twitchy, twitchy game. I think the game could've done without the random stopping and changing direction of the nasties on levels 2 and 3.

I remember this one as a really frustrating game bitd.
Nothing's changed for me. I find it almost impossible to judge the edges of the platforms correctly and usually end up at the bottom in a pool of blood!

Yup, the controls are real twitchy. It's taken me a lot of games just to get to level 3......Ummm, I'm not holding back Rod..... :-)

LOL I've just fixed up another Beeb and installed Econet into it, this time I thought I'd play the challenge on it... (although it boots into Starship Command almost immediately =D> ) Anyway, that's six hours of "Beeb time" that should have been spent debugging some weird firmware issue (solved now - who'd have thought students leaving reputable universities not understanding 2's complement!)

I went back onto the laptop and played some more of this game, as I've said before, when the yelling starts, I stop playing. The thing that finally did it for me was the dogs**t collision detection on the spiders  what's worse, the final level has a gap that needs three, very precise, thrusts to get through each direction and what do you get for going through it all? Nothing.

It is so typical of a game that the developer added "difficulty" because they were play testing the game as they went. The death on contact with the edge of the platforms is a result, otherwise, one could cheese it by thrusting up and using the edge of the platform to line one's self up with the platform above... #-o It is a shame that this game is so unforgiving, I am sure it could have been better if the things added to make it more difficult were not present on the first play through and then gradually added to give it some replay value.

Yes that would be the right way to do it but remember, this was one of the fairly early games for the Beeb, wasn't it?

It certainly could have been much better and...... a proper machine code routine for the player movement would have been nice, could have improved the game just by that and not having such a herky-jerky thing happening. That might have been another programming 'afterthought'.

Wow, by pure luck I've managed to get through the first level onto the second (twice in fact).
This second level doesn't look so tough, although I failed to complete it both times now...

That second level is tougher than it looks.....trust me. I've been to it many times but have only ever completed it once.

I managed an unexpected improvement after losing two lives in level 1 then sailed straight through level 2 without a twitch. Level 3 brought me down though.
