My starter. The movement feels a bit laggy but I guess it's a matter of getting used to it.

Here's a starting effort from me. Personally, I'm not a big fan of games where inertia's involved, especially on platformers, as there's a feeling of being powerless when trying to avoid enemies when you're sliding around. I can't say that I've played the original Mario Brothers game (which this is a shameless clone of) and I doubt whether I will now.

Where's Ratty, Croc, Magpie, Baby Rat and Cocky when drains are filled with nasties  I'm slipping 'n' sliding around like a greased up Mario and this is the best I've come up with. I seem to have an all-or-nothing score, sometimes I can get quite far before an inevitable slide into a creature on a wrap-around, or an invisibility runs out at just the wrong time... I might have another few goes, but this time of year, time is getting thin  #-o

A slight increase from me. A few silly deaths from slipping and sliding around like a Turkish greased wrestler though

Saw this in the running for the season and was hoping it'd get picked. Then again, I also had fond memories of Bird Strike, but after reading a few comments in the last round thread then it didn't seem worth the bother

I remember having this on the Power Pack compilation. Was unaware of the Mario resemblance way back when and just enjoyed it as its own game. Loved the music that the instructions have!

I guess drains are slippy places, but it does seem strange to not have introductory levels that break you in without slidey surfaces? Difficulty soon sure ramps up after a few levels too. Am never quite sure when to use those ZAP blocks... and the invisibility is such a double-edged sword as it leads to as many deaths as it avoids, when you misjudge where to phase out of it!

Anyway, here's a go from me: 16900

More than doubled my last attempt :D

Wasn't too happy with my last life falling foul of some appalling collision detection with a water ball.
Also, the bonus round is such a rip off! It really should give you an extra bonus for any time remaining on the clock - should you clear all the coins.
