And they're untested.

The same seller's other listing is just as optimistic: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275767730967 ... Swm~lkJd0A

Again untested and the M4000 has a broken key...

And there are people with money to spend, apparently.
Oh, I'm convinced it does. YouTube channels create cult-like followings that manifest quite substantive FOMO.

A few years ago RMC just showed a Memotech MTX series machine on the channel and within a week the eBay prices went from £20-£50 to > £300 and there they stay.

Yes, but it does have a Plus 1 and Plus 3 with it. If they are all working the starting price is not too OTT.

Too rich for me but I wouldn't mind a Plus 3. Not that I'd use it, just to have it. The Electron is a cute machine and much under-valued at Flaxcottage Towers. :(

Perhaps not LOLprice yet but for sure it will be! I wonder what kind of green, rotted horror awaits the buyer of this "never out of the box" machine, photographed out of the box showing dirt on the keyboard and a filthy mouse cable. I'm surprised that Acorn shipped it like that [-X
You think people who buy that sort of thing ever de-box them anyway? :-k

(And I'm pretty sure that's the wrong type of mouse)

Never before seen an a3000 in such a mint condition. If I didn't have one already I would put in a bid, and of course cross my fingers because of the battery

Only if the label's fallen off.

Or given that the seller is apparently the daughter of a former Acorn Engineering team member -- it could be that the machine was a staff purchase or prototype and never had a serial number to begin with.
Questions about software preservation (BBC, RISC OS or other platforms)? Please feel free to ask.
Currently looking for RISC OS software to archive and preserve, please drop me a PM if you have any to offer.

I love listings list like. I like the whooshing sound they make as the listing end date flies by.

You tend to see this a lot in the days following a "maximum seller fee of £1" event on eBay. Sellers put a bunch of placeholder items on with ludicrous prices/images, then replace them with actual content when they have more time. There's quite a few of the same fan heater: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?item= ... sn=jaddben

I'm a fan of the one entitled "Toxteth Woodworm Embarrassment". That's an oddly satisfying combination of words for something that means nothing at all.
