Does anyone have a spare 6522 VIA I could nobble for my Cherry Master, please?

And will anyone be bringing an Archie POST-box and be willing to help me diagnose the dreaded RAM Control Line Failure on my spare A3020? [-o< (I’ve traced the board to the best of my ability, which isn’t saying much, but pretty sure some IC’s need replacing.)

All thanks in advance.
Can't help with the 6522, but should have a postbox with me.

I'm sure I have some untested from china 6522s in my bits box, but you might need a backup plan!
Does you master have a socket?

I seem to remember some beeb vs archie mandelbrot races in the past and have definitely seen some magic smoke fireworks! ;)

Bryan and I will both be arriving at Fleet station at 15:08 on Friday. Is there anyone who can give us a lift to the hotel?

Thanks in advance.

Just a final call for tables. If anyone can bring any that would be really appreciated.

Apologies for the short notice, but would anybody be able to bring along an EPROM eraser? (I can bring some written-to EPROMS) I have an EPROM writer that I've not been able to test.

I've got some items to give away that I can bring, if anybody is interested...

Acornsoft View manuals:
  • Into View book (SBD08) (has small sticker on cover)
  • View manual (SBD58)
  • View reference card (SBB31/R)
  • ViewStore manual (SBD60)
  • ViewSheet manual (SBD59)
  • ViewSheet reference card (SBB07/R)
Beebugsoft Master ROM stuff:
  • Master ROM Reference Manual
  • Master ROM (I think! - 32 KB unlabeled EPROM on a carrier board)
  • Master ROM (32 KB EPROM with label, plus the carrier board that I think it goes with)
Condition of all items is what I would describe as Rather Nice, even taking into account their advanced age.

I am in Hertfordshire, four hours in, will do the remaining three hours including detours tomorrow!
I have as requested issues 7 with 1mhz thingy, pi copro, rgb2hdmi, MMC adapters, joystick adapters, paddle adapters and a speech upgrade with 6100 emulator. I was going to throw in the UV eraser, but forgot, so good job I didn't say I would. Oh and have some fresh of the boat 6522s!
Hopefully I didn't promise anything that I have forgotten!

If you need a UV eraser, I'm happy to bring one you can borrow?

tricky wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 6:42 pm I think zombiedog if I have the name right uses them. I use the cheap, £9 tubs to take four beebs in, but they are in the car and I'm very careful, so probably not what you want.
I use the 64 litre really useful boxes, the 84 litre ones a also available but tend to be much more expensive. The 64 ones are often on sale at wickes / b&q or amazon. They usually work out about 13 quid each (they used to often be 10 quid each in staples before it folded) if you catch them on sale. They are super strong and stack easily. They will fit a BBC, master and all of the archimedies range.

I brought an 84 litre one and with a Beeb, A5000, A3010 and a few tools in and it was rather on the heavy side, and awkward to carry. I should have used a sack barrow, in retrospect.

Chris Morley had a RUB that was a snug fit for a beeb, too snug to fit the mains plug one any side.

I saw a couple of people had fold-flat wheely things and they were handy things to have, or to borrow.

Good event - thanks again to judgebeeb for making it happen.

Hopefully no-one will report that they picked up a case of plague over the weekend.

I seem to have come back with some kind of non-COVID soar throat, probably due to my other current issues and immuno immunosuppressants.

Sorry to hear that Tricky, I hope you fight it off quickly and without complications.

All the best for a speedy recovery.
