Just finished a new VR pic. The sky was done with A.I. I did the rest of the coding and animation. The computers and AI are going to help us imagine brand new worlds.

I've created a 3d pic using AI to produce a depth map from a 2d VR oil painting I did.
You can view on your Quest 2

I've done an AI planet that is a 360 stereoscopic pic using depth maps.
You can view it in the Oculus browser.
It's early days yet.....but see how the plants look like they are in the foreground

I viewed the image using a Loreo Pixi 3D Viewer and the effect is very subtle. I like the painting, though: it reminds me of charcoal and pastel work I did over half a lifetime ago.

It's nothing fancy, being just a cardboard box with some plastic lenses that effectively project side-by-side images to each eye, but probably as much VR as I can handle! You get the weird sensation of seeing your computer monitor sort of squashed into being a long tall "portrait" display if you look around the edges of the screen, but it is a lot more comfortable than coloured glasses. What is actually nice about it is the way that the box provides what they call a "dark viewing chamber". Sadly, as the Web site indicates, they stopped making and selling these years ago, but I imagine other simple alternatives exist.

Anyway, keep up the great work making images and other art! Your 8-bit art would probably suit many of these retro spaces and museums that seem to be cropping up everywhere.
