Damn! Looks like it is every-so-slightly too big for the build plate on my Eryone ER20 [-X

The trick’s to print vertically if you can, it works fine.

It feels more apt that an Atom case should only ever be printed in 8 bits...
I run a little online shop called "Vintage Imitation Parts" to sell a few Acorn Archimedes and BBC Micro related bits and pieces, such as my imitation keyboard surrounds and just recently my imitation function strips.

had not enough from the same PLA due trail and error ) and resolution. The right one is printed with a hire resolution.
Can you publish the printer setting ? Resolution, temperature etc to learn from ?

It fits on the build-plate vertically but unfortunately it is a little too tall that way.

A 24 bit Atom. Whatever next?

(I’ve not worn out that joke quite yet)

Surely that would be a 48bit Atom?

It worked perfectly on an ender, slight issue with one edge rising slightly which I’ll sort on the next go.

Does somebody want to try the JLCPCB 3D printing service :-k ?

I just uploaded the design to see what the costs would be and whether they reject the design or not. It does look like they can print it.....

Sorry to kick an older topic, how did you print the top part ?
Top part flipped , top facing the build plate ?
Any support used ?

Kind regards, Bram

Hello Bram,

I did print side ways, this way you don't need to print the support for it. I sliced the cover with the slicing software in windows 10 & 11, precisely in the middle and melted some long nales in the case for supporting the top case and also the bottem.

With kind regards Erik

My first "Quarter" printed (PLA-Blue) according to Kees' latest designs.
Usually I work with PetG, this was my first PLA attempt, but the bottom is quite a flat surface, and PLA is less prone to warp.
Quite impressed to be honest, up to the next coming weekend, curious how they will fit together.

In reality the back is more smooth than the pictures show. Actually "retestrak" to use a Dutch term
And the particles on the bottom are not print imperfections but breadcrumbs

Very happy with this first try.

Try Prusa Slicer, that will let you split a model and keep both halves , so something like this you could split it down the exact middle (by measurement) then stand the two halves up on edge and print together

Kees already changed and published adapted STL files, with the case split in 4, and having tabs (as you can see in my pictures) to glue the parts together.

Some more progress. The 2 top parts are not glued together here.
Some small imperfections left where Kees will help.
