Nice drive, Wim. :D

Just as noisy and clunky as mine when I got it. Interesting that the electronics are different. Maybe it is a later one.

There's something very special about old HDD sounds. New drives are just too quiet.
I run a little online shop called "Vintage Imitation Parts" to sell a few Acorn Archimedes and BBC Micro related bits and pieces, such as my imitation keyboard surrounds and just recently my imitation function strips.

Take a look! vintage.imitation.parts

Yesterday I picked up this little beauty at the widow of my deceased best friend Peter,

Peter owned a electronics shop since 1980, I also (1980) bought my Atom at his shop...

Amongst a bundle of HW picked up on eBay was this:

Google revealed the following:

VM61002 1982 TMS5220 Industrial Vocabulary (Electronics/Measurement words) demo rom 16KiB TMS5220
VM61003 1982 TMS5220 Time/Weather demo rom 16KiB TMS5220
VM61004 1982 TMS5220 Military demo rom 16KiB TMS5220
VM61005 1982? TMS5220 Avionics demo rom 16KiB TMS5220

Looks like it's designed to plug into the header by the keyboard for the speech extension. Not sure if it's a homebrew board, looks that way?
4~ x Beebs, 1 x A3020, 1 x A3010, 1 x A3000, 1 x Master 512, 1 x Master Turbo, 1 x Master Compact, I could stop, If I wanted to...

Nice find, at last we have something that used the PHROM header. It's labelled BBC MUG which I'd assume to be some user group.

I was given a Dragon 32 a few weeks ago. No idea if it works yet as the power supply rattles alarmingly and I need to drill out the rivets to find out what's going on inside. It also has a severe case of polystyrene goop.

It looks brand new, though the security seals on the screws have been broken, so it clearly saw some use.
