First talk confirmed for April's all-day ABug: Peter Scott, who was undoubtedly the most prolific programmer of commercial BBC Micro and Electron games in the 80s, will be overviewing his Acorn career with Colin Hoad at 8pm (BST) on Sat 3rd April (with thanks to idesine for facilitating the talk!).

Third talk confirmed!

Andrew Gordon: Computers in Schools, Econet & SJ Research from 13:00 B.S.T.

Image

Intro from Andrew:
My main involvement in the Acorn world has been the 25 years (1980-2005) that I spent doing interesting things with Econet. However, I was first approached to do this talk because I was working at Acorn in 1981/2; that work itself wasn't particularly significant, but it was a key moment of history to be there. So my aim in this talk is to walk you through the history of Econet and SJ Research, set against the background of the schools that were both our customers and our collaborators, topped up with some anecdotes from my time at Acorn that give a flavour of the era. The details of what we did are mostly clear to see from the machines in preservation, but there's a web of people and coincidences that explains why and how that came to pass.
