Electrobots - new game for Elk/Beeb/Master

Post by 0xC0DE »

After finishing monochrome Elementum, I wanted to create a game in MODE 5.
I have no idea where this is going but I am drawing tiles, objects, enemies, etc.
I'm thinking about a multi screen world with puzzles and secrets. Think Citadel.

This is an impression of 6 such screens stitched together:

So, we're finally getting a port of WonderboyIII: The Dragons Trap!
Thats excellent news!

Progress update.
In theory I could create 16x16 rooms. These are some test rooms.
Enemies are now in, but can't harm you yet.
Animation is still smooth. Player (robot) at 50fps.

What an understatement! =D>

It's looking silky smooth - seen the animations scrolling past on my Twitter lurking. And so much happening on-screen as well!

Progress update.
Working on the game world after implementing many, many game features.
Actually 2 game worlds: one normal and one under water.
Very frequent updates on Twitter (with moving pictures, ooh! ) https://twitter.com/0xC0DE6502

Amazing looking, and fast too. Absolutely no hint of flicker, nearly all the professional games used to flicker like crazy back in the day, it looks like it's running on a playstation. Brilliant!

It's really looking good.
Have you decided on the aim of the game (and a storyline) yet?
How much ram do you have left for hings like sound, attract screen, etc...?

I sort of have a storyline and goal in mind, but it's still evolving.
At the moment I have 4.5Kb of free RAM and I'm trying to cram in as many rooms as possible.
