I spoke to the museum director and he is more than happy to show it. Even more it is a working condition so he will show a working system one. Could we be put in the afternoon at around 14:00 your local time. I believe it will be 14:15 because of another speaker before us.Arcadian wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 11:26 pmOh, that sounds REALLY cool, Timo.TimoHartong wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:49 pm Hi Can I also be placed on this list. I will visit the home computer museum in Helmond the Netherlands. We can ask the museum director if we can show the Acorn System one in detail and stream it live.
I will be in and out
Do you think there's any way you could you get the necessary permissions in advance? As we could allocate a slot on the programme for you if so ...

Ah, that's excellent news - this is going to be a great addition to the schedule!TimoHartong wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 2:42 pm I spoke to the museum director and he is more than happy to show it. Even more it is a working condition so he will show a working system one.
Ah, the slots actually begin at 2pm and are either confirmed (0XC0DE) or at least provisionally filled.TimoHartong wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 2:42 pm Could we be put in the afternoon at around 14:00 your local time. I believe it will be 14:15 because of another speaker before us.
However, if you could present at 13:30 - 14:00 I could push all the other slots back 30 mins?

Thanks again Timo really looking forward to the live demo, can you check with Bart and ensure that he's happy for the presentation to be recorded and put on Youtube? We can always allow Bart to review the edit before it goes public.

Hi moderators,
you can put me down for an AGD demo and explanation.
I can make a demo to show how AGD works and what the features are.
Already did this for Daredevil Dennis but now I can make it more general for Atom, BBC and Electron.
Greetings
Kees

Hi,
I'd like to join for some of this. Due to the California timezone difference, it'd likely be from 6pm onwards if that's ok.
Cheers
Chris

Three more presentations added:
10.00 - 10.45 : DanielJ will give a demonstration of the Greaseweazle USB floppy disc reading interface, including an overview of the software/hardware involved, as well as precautions to take whilst archiving. Dumping protected discs to HFE format will also be covered.
15.15 - 16.00 : Sarah Walker will give an overview of her space-based arcade shootemup, White Light (2017) including selected programming techniques and tools used.
16.15 - 17.00 : Kees van Oss will present the third and final part of his series of tutorials for AGD - Arcade Game Designer. This presentation will have more of an emphasis on Electron and BBC games creation using AGD, though the Atom will still be included.
The schedule in the top post has been updated.
The 9pm talk should be confirmed later today hopefully!
I've also added the last four names to the top post ... just 12 places left now.

Another confirmed talk added to the schedule, and it's a cracker!
21:00 - 22:00
Speaker - Phil Pearson (myelin): The Ultimate Electron Upgrade

Speaker - Phil Pearson (myelin): The Ultimate Electron Upgrade
So we'll have three presentations from the Netherlands throughout the afternoon, Matt dialing in from Chicago for the 6pm 'jsbeeb' talk, Ed coordinating the High Score challenge from BC at 7.15pm then to top the evening off, Phil will be giving the above presentation from California at 9pm. These VABugs have become truly international affairs now ... and I love it!myelin wrote: I'll be talking about the trickiest hardware project I've done, the Ultimate Electron Upgrade:
- A brief rundown of the Electron ULA's capabilities and the original wishlist for the UEU
- Hoglet's work to implement a ULA workalike in VHDL, and the full ElectronFpga project
- The UEU PCB and its quirks: four layers, tons of BGA, missing IRQ/NMI pullups, bus-hold buffers, LVC vs HCT for video
- Writing and debugging the RTL: SDRAM, QPI flash, audio
- Future potential: how to max out the SDRAM bandwidth, internal coprocessors, emulating bigger systems

I would love to attend (will probably lurk in the background "ABUG radio" style) but as a newbie here I would gladly defer to forum veterans and contributing members if places are limited.
