All-day 'Virtual' Acorn session #2, Saturday 2nd May 2020, 9am - 9pm

Post by sydney »

This Saturday will be the first virtual meeting with a slightly more organised format.
We are asking not only who is attending but also whether you want to talk about or demonstrate your work/project.
If you are willing to talk about or demonstrate something then we have a schedule listed below to ensure that everyone gets a fair amount of time and so that people who want to see something in particular can ensure they are online when it happens.

Edit - here is the latest version of the agenda (v4, updated Saturday 2 May, 17:30)
VAbugAgenda_AllDay_02_May2nd2020_PNG_v4.png

I'll be filling a table with details of the agenda for the day once we have a few responses. What I need from you is:
  • Are you attending?
  • Are you demonstrating something?
  • Which time slot would you like?
There is no requirement to 'do' anything and I don't expect every slot to be filled. Attending the meeting to simply lurk and listen to what is going on is as relevant as someone presenting an amazing new product.

Please can you put my name down. Probably for the whole day. Whether or not I have anything to demonstrate depends on whether some PCBs arrive from China before Saturday.

You can also put my name down in a New Games slot.
I'll show my progress in converting Daredevil Dennis for the Atom and Deardevil Dennis in AGD.

I'd like to attend as well please. Nothing new to show (still working on Skirrid), so I'll mostly be listening and joining in where I can.

Since my Acorn related PCBs have not even reached the airport in China, they won't have arrived by Saturday. This means, I won't have anything Acorn related to work on.

I will still have my 'LabCam' set up and will be working on either completing this and/or starting this, whilst generally moderating, lurking and joining in with the chatter.

I don't have anything to present, but am happy to answer questions about any of my games, or programming in general.
I've done updated videos of all my recent games with voice overs that mention some of the technical bits that might be explored further.

Hi there,

I'll be along for the evening (once kids are in bed), and will try to pop in during the day, kids and household duties permitting.

I've got some (unsolicited) ideas for website improvement, so I'll plan to join the 4-5pm slot to show you what I've thought of.

I will try to drop in sometime in the afternoon (after breakfast :D )

Will probably just be lurking and listening in. Not installed Zoom yet, no idea if my webcam even works, and generally dislike video conference type things, so we'll see how it goes!

(BTW, if you're prepared to prop the thing up in a stable and appropriate orientation, joining a conference from a phone or tablet can be very effective.)

I’d like to pop in and out during the afternoon for a bit of lurking and listening, if that’s OK. I haven’t set up Zoom yet, but how hard can it be? :-)

Yes. You can have audio only. I'm not sure if you can join without audio and video though. I'll add you to the list so give it a go and let us know.
