I wonder if anyone is bringing (or can bring) a VGA monitor that does work well, and we can see if it's my machines. They do seem to beep at all the right places, and I sometimes get the initial startup screen displayed, but I don't seem to be getting much further.

Finally, it would be awesome to pit the Music 5000 and 4000 kit against the CLEF. The software was never a finished piece - its rather clunky compared to the more developed Music 5000 kit. To load the Synth, you need to press 1-9 or Shift 1-9 to select an instrument, then M to load the menu, then 7 to Play or record a sequence, then O to turn the keyboard on with the selected instrument. And then if you want to change the instrument, you have to do it all again. I'm sure I even missed a step there too!Is it useful for me to bring my Music 500 and DataCentre so we can have another look at how they work together? It would mean bringing a set of powered speakers or an amplifier and speakers, but as I'm filling my van up with so much already a few extra bits really won't make much difference.
Please do bring your Beeb along. I am sure there will be someone who would be happy to look at it for you. Don't worry about bringing your own table just for a few hours on Saturday. There will be space for it.

In lieu of a local expert, I'd be happy to try again with the remote-diagnosis approach if you want to resurrect your old thread in the hardware section. (I've just noticed that you posted about getting a basic scope, but I seem to have missed it at the time.) That way we can "drown our sorrows" about not being at the ABug meet, together.
