Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
That's what I thought about the other ones.....
Until I found them...
Lee
EDIT: the fact is that hardly any have been checked.
The only ones I checked were from existing archives, plus one or two from 'here and there'...
There will be thousands out there, and I am convinced Howarth and Jukic versions of more titles will turn up as more tapes are checked...

Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
FWIW, i've just checked the cassette I discovered to have in my collection and it's Mak Jukic, version BBC-b/126, the same as the UEF
Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
Cheers BillC
If anyone else has a Hulk or Mystery Fun house cassette kicking about, please check the version!

Actually, I'm after that too, so I'll ask if I can do that when I'm doing the tapes. Guess that means I'll need a beeb as well..Kazzie wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 6:24 am If there are any kind, willing individuals available, I'd appreciate a copy of the software and manuals for the Valiant Computer Interface (CH32466).
Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
Here's my final wishlist of items I'd like to archive (with Phill's assistance) this weekend:
Hardware:
CH33145 System 3 6809: FLEX discs?
CH16709 Torch Model No.301
CH42476 Solidisk PC-Plus
CH51453 BarryBox (internal photos only)
CH49512 Acorn BBC Master Compact Prototype
CH35201 Hektor1
CH2142 Hektor2
CH43078 Hektor3
Software:
CH32460 Micro-Robotics Snap Camera EV1
CH41152 Knight Orc
CH20901 Interactvice 3D
CH18666 Wordwise Plus II
CH48607 The Nidd Valley Illustrator
CH30794 Diagram
CH42851 Diagram-II
CH30983 Icon-Art-Master
CH42848 PCB
CH18676 The Artist
CH38188 The Publisher
CH21226 Novacad
CH21273 TechnoCAD
CH15388 Windomatic
CH18668 Signwriter
CH26675 PCB Drafting Printing Programme
It looks like alot but the hardware should be relatively easy as some are uncased boards. I'm also hoping the majority of software is unprotected so should only be a few minutes per item. Anything protected will be noted for attention during a future session.

Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
I would like to advocate for the archival/scan of:
CH51971 Investigator III
(possibly CH33988 Investigator)
alongside the previously mentioned
CH21518 Acornsoft Archimedes LISP
(possibly CH42928 LISP - Demonstration Programs Disk Version, only scans, as we do have the disk)
as nobody seem to have Archimedes Lisp and Investigator III. Many thanks and I wish I could be there too!
(there is the Atari Cambridge LISP, unfortunately without documentation)

Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
So, as an update so far:
I've got a few left to do. But sadly...
Mak Jukic versions:
Hulk.
Mystery Fun House by.
Pyramid of Doom.
Paul.

Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
I took photos on my old phone of the text to speech (and speech) manuals. I doubt that they will OCR well, but they are readable.
Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
Hi,
The files I digitised follow. Most worked perfectly, but a couple failed. I've got them in Wave format, so will upload them separately.
I've also scanned the covers, and a couple of manuals. etc. The Hulk was too big for here, so I'll resize and upload to that post.
MODS.. I'm not sure if these posts fit in "Announce", so feel free to move as appropriate!
Paul.

Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
I'd be willing to type in the text to speech instructions if they can't be OCRed (I'm guessing it's not that many pages).
It will be good to finally be able to do a remastered PDF of this.
Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
An interesting find!
Was it archivable?
Re: Cambridge Sept 2019 archiving thread
Yes, fully archived.
Will post the image this evening, Chet.
