Wakefield RISC OS show 27/4/19

Post by sydney »

Wakefield RISC OS show is on again this year.
I'm pretty sure I'll be there, anyone else going?
Don't forget they usually give us 8 bitters a really good deal on a table.

Let me know if your going and what you'll be showing and I'll maintain a list.

I'll be bringing my master for some gaming as usual and hopefully getting some upgrades installed. Namely: beebscsi mini, internal pi copro, econet interface, Daniels wifi modem and maybe even installing my gotek internally. I just need to find everything in the bottomless pit that is my garage!

Exhibiting:
  • sydney - master gaming and upgrading
  • danielj - Archimedes Mary Rose along with some other shenanigans...
  • flaxcottage - Educational Archive website on RPi. Econet in a box to demo new educational finds on a Master with A4000 as server.
  • RobC - I'll have a machine with VideoNuLA and Pi co-pro showing off my CPC emulator and possibly an early demo of a new game.
  • daveejhitchins
Attending:

I'll be along! :) Not sure what I'm doing, but I think we'll be having the Archimedes Version of Mary Rose running along with some other shenanigans...

I'm in the process of booking a table but I'll only need half of it so if someone has something to show wants to share get in touch.

I've already booked a table. :D

I'll be bringing the Educational Archive website using a Raspberry Pi to present it. The Econet in a box will be there to demonstrate some new educational finds on a Master using an A4000 as the Level 4 server. I'll also bring my Kryoflux so that someone (Daniel? ) can show me how to use it.

If I can get the demo set up in time I'll also bring a Plotmate A4 set up and LOGO.

Crikey! It only lasts 6 hours John! Also I think the show website has you listed as 'Flex Educational archive' which I don't think is correct.

Is anyone staying over in Wakefield on the Friday night? I'm considering it and if there are others it will definitely tip the balance in favour of staying.

Thanks for the heads up about the mistake on the WROCC website. I've emailed Chris to get it corrected.

6 hours is plenty!

I might be persuaded if there will be beer the night before......
And assuming it doesn't clash with my other event in April.

Cheers.

I'm normally there from about lunch time. Assuming BeebMaster wants a lift, he'll also probably be in attendance.

Mmmmm. Beer.
That's the only reason I'll be there on the Friday.

Since it's virtually in my back yard (<10 miles), I think it would be remis of me not to go and have a look round :-)

Besides, some one mentioned beer

In another thread...
shawty wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 10:44 pm I'm assuming your going sydney?

It's April 7/8/9/10 I'm in Leeds, so if I do go to Wakefield, it's more than likely going to be traveling down from Newcastle central. (Newcastles way better than Durham... :-D )

Anyway, given you'll likely be traveling from NCL too, and if we do both go down, we should probably see if we can sync up, and travel together.
I'm almost certainly travelling down on the Friday afternoon/early evening by car. I'm happy to pick you up and bring you back if you're able to come on the Friday evening. I'll drop you a pm later.

If you don't plan for a Friday jurney then I set off early Saturday Morning from Newton Aycliffe, a little further south!

That would be awesome if it worked out that way. :-)

Ok, let me start looking at booking accommodation and re-organizing my schedules.
