Also the smell of an X2 capacitor failing added an authentic smell that every retro hardware show should have!

Enjoyed catching up with everyone again today, nice to meet you HullBeebMan!

Thanks Rob for the Beebsid PCB, Daniel for the Smallymouse PCB and Tricky for fixing up my dodgy controllers!

I took some photos of the 8-bit stand holders as well as Anthony's AMCOG stall (below). Thanks to Beebmaster for letting me use his camera! :)

Now looking forward to the Camberley ABug in June!

Richard (Tricky), with the nULa version of Frogger, which featured the same colours from the original arcade game. Also on display was the latest version of Tricky's Centipede conversion, which featured trackball control.

Using somebody else's DataCentre and a collection of keyboards I think I dug out my USB keybaord + Hub problem.

In essence, two of the USB keyboards I have aren't actually USB keyboards, but are PS2 keyboards with a USB plug on them that you can plug into a little USB-PS2 adaptor to plug into a PS2 socket. As these type of keyboards are not actually USB keyboards they don't understand the full USB protocol and must be plugged directly into a USB master socket as device zero, and don't work through a hub as device 1+. A shame as one of them is a really nice Japanese keyboard with all the symbol keys in the correct place. ;)

Jonathan . . . Are you being picky again? If English were my first language I might fair better - as it is I learned (to) dribble first - and never recovered

And more to the point - I don't have a face of one that cares  And the cake is really good :-

Some bad news . . . (apart from my English!) . . .

I unpacked my transport box last night and found two items missing :(

Two IDE interfaces. One was delivered to me by IanS (his new version) and the second was an original version 6C, found for me on the bring and buy stand by DanielJ.

The last time I remember seeing them was on my side of the stand after showing them to someone - on reflection I don't remember packing them at close of play.

Has anyone seen or found them?

Thanks - Dave H 8-[

Sorry, Dave. You prompted me to unpack! Ha ha! I was right next to you but there is nothing untoward in my boxes. :( I don't even remember seeing them at all.

Hope they turn up soon.

Hi Dave,

This has prompted me to unpack too

I didn't come across either interface but know that there was nothing left on the side table that tricky and I were using when I departed. Don't know about the table you were using though as I didn't look at it.

Hope they turn up.

Have you contacted the show organiser to see if anything was found or handed in at the end?

I'll do that.

My table was quite empty - I even looked under the table, in case they had been knocked off during the tear-down. And Mrs H says she didn't help with the packing or unpacking :?

Well, well, well . . . .

There I was putting some caravan items away in my shed . . . And what do I spot? A pink antistatic bag with a SCART cable inside. I'm wondering what on earth is it doing there? It was among a few other items that I taken down to Wakefield. Hmmm! I thought, why has Mrs H put these in here? On opening the bag . . .yes, you've guessed, 2 x IDE interfaces and a SmallyMouse PCB =D>

Firstly . . . My apologies to the Wakefield crew for all my awful thoughts. Secondly . . . To Mrs H - I've told her the nose bleed will stop soon  No, seriously, I won't tell her, as she gets so upset when she does this . . . There's no way any of my 'workshop' stuff should be in the 'shed'

So, all's well that ends well - to coin a phrase . . . Bless her cotton socks . . .
