I arrived about 1.30pm but was told my room wouldn't be ready until 4pm! So I went off to the People's History Museum, which was really good. Now back with my feet up in the hotel room :-)

Are we meeting in the bar or the conference room?

I did an updated backup to my Compact, and that includes various bits of MIDI software that will work with the EMR.

I've decided to give up fighting against two pints of bitter (lightweight!!) and have gone to bed. :) See you all in the morning.

There is plenty hot air in the sauna. So you just need to bring swim ware. If the room tomorrow is as cold as this evening I'll definitely visit the sauna a few times

I recognise Steve Furber but who else do we see?

And what's that single board Beeb with SCART output?

And is that a very special cheese wedge?

Thanks to Arcadian and the other organisers for putting on the meeting. It was good to catch up with familiar faces and meet some newcomers - or long-time lurkers in some cases. :) I'm slightly disappointed that I didn't get there early enough to catch Steve Furber but hopefully he wasn't too disappointed. ;) Besides, I think it would have been an epic struggle on my part.

I didn't take many pictures, but here are a couple of the Electron corner (end) of the Wharf meeting room and the RISC iX QIC at the start of being copied - hopefully it didn't take forever to do or wear out in the process. Thanks to Prime for bringing along the kit to do it.

BigEd

The special cheese wedge is one of a few tens of Arm Development systems

Ian was getting the Arm Assembler manuals for it co-signed (Sophie Wilson had already signed it)

The "single board" BBC you might be mistaking for Robert Lazarus' homebrew computer system :)

As Phil says, Steve signed one of the manuals for it (Ian / BeebMaster took a photo of the signatures in the manual, but I did not).

Yes, he was testing parts of the circuits at a slow clock speed at previous meet-ups.

He is awaiting the space bar parts, hence why he has not populated all the keyboard keyswitches yet.

Thanks Dave for organising this. Another great event. Nice to see everyone again and plenty of new faces. Good to see Roland and Kees from the Netherlands. Great to have a visit from the Prof. :D

In terms of the two rooms, it was a great venue for the numbers that attended. Didn't feel cramped at all.Would be good to go their again if the other issues with the venue management can be ironed out.

Thanks again to all concerned who made this a successful event.
There is so much wonder in the universe; why should you want to imagine that there is more?
