DanielJ : Superb that is most decent of you :D

I believe then I will be a " kitter " I won't have a screen though, due to being paranoid enough about bringing my BBC by train ..

Count me in for Saturday only , and I'll get payment sent :D

OK, I've booked flights now. I'm not bringing any major kit - only cartridges and peripherals at most.

I'll send you a PM, Dave. :)

Edit: I'm really only considering being around on the Saturday but I'm keeping my options open. :)

What time do these events usually break up on the Sunday, and does anyone hang about for drinks or food? I was about to book train tickets but wasn't sure what time to get for the return!

Dear friends,

Just for the logistic planning, can somebody bring me some hardware for this meeting:
* An Atom 2k14 (or 2k15)
* Two VGA monitors

If there's no Atom available I will check if I can bring one of my own Atoms but then I still need at least one but preferably two VGA monitors.

BTW: happy new year

Counting down to January 19th .... :D

Can you move me to the "with kit" list as I will probably bring a laptop, so somewhere to put it would be nice.

CANCELLATION

Sorry to have to do this , but at least someone else can come.

Due to personal circumstances , i won't be able to attend the ABUG in manchester , so please offer my spot to someone else who wants it.

IF anyone isn't coming because of financial reasons , please let them have my spot free of charge , if not , throw the booking fee into the kitty for refreshments etc.

Gutted i cant make it , but there is always the next one.

If i had arranged to bring stuff for people or collect purchases i'll PM you.

Alex :(

BTW, there was a chap called Kristjan Ford on Facebook who was looking to book a place but was having difficulty getting onto the forum. I think danielj has his details.

Now that we are back to the main topic I can ask for the last time .... "can anyone bring a VGA monitor for me?" I prefer to have two monitors but one will also do.
If no one can bring me a VGA monitor then I'll have to leave my Atom at home and I can't show you some new (software) developments :(

And something else: the hotel has a sauna and steam room. If you want to use it, you should also bring swimwear apart from your soft- and hardware :!:

I have DEL monitor that may suffice. I'll get the Model #, later, so you can check it.

Hello Dave,

I don't think that the model reallymatters, it is for an Atom so it's quite low resolution. It will also be connected to a Pi Zero, I'll bring the adapter from mini HDMI to VGA. Thanks in advance,

There are many people on the guest list that I don't know. Are there badges available or should every visitor create his (no women?) own badge so that I know who I'm talking too?

I'll bring my name-badge, quite a few of us should have them from previous events.

Apart from that, any requests? I haven't fixed what I am bringing yet, but I thought I would bring my Issue 2 Econet Model B, probably the oldest working Beeb with Econet!

I might bring my Winchester rig-up as I'm in the process - it just stalled actually - of trying to backup/image the 7 or 8 "proper" Beeb Winchester Disc units I have lurking around the house.

Hopefully some helpful souls will have a go at some of my green kit, I'm still without a working MDFS, and my 2018 new-year's-resolution is not to try to repair anything myself any more, so it's the last chance saloon for these I think.

Oh, and can somebody please repair my SCSI2SD. The USB connector broke clean off. It still works if I hold it together firmly but I don't want to be doing that for very long really.

Perhaps if you place a few tiny drops of tin on each pad and then use the halogen light bulb (viewtopic.php?f=41&t=14296) you can repair the connector...

Not me! I've sworn off repairs for 2018 (although not breaking things, that wouldn't be any fun) but somebody else can if they like.

I once came across a 8 bit computer where someone had glued a broken connector back on . Never mind about these bits of broken and unjointed metal pins... Unsurprisingly, anything plugged into said connector did not work

As the connector was obsolete, I had to get a spare from a shop that sold carefully removed parts from boards that were being scrapped (beyond repair).

Some bright spark should make conductive Blu Tack. Nod.

(I believe genuine Blu Tack is as near nonconductive as makes no odds, but several of the clones conduct enough to be scary when used to bodge mains electrics.)

I feel like I'm asking a dumb question, but...

What time do activities begin and end each day? I can't see that information anywhere!
