Yes, it would be shame if this all just faded away at this stage! Let's hope danielj gets his hands on the discs soon.

I am still holding my breath for this one!
Did Daniel ever receive the discs? were they unreadable? :?

Erm, I don't think the discs have actually been posted yet!

Ever since the author agreed to send Daniel the discs, about two months ago, I've been emailing him to remind him to do so, but although he has said that he would get round to it, more recently he's been saying that he's very busy and that posting the discs isn't a high priority for him. :(

I think he's a bit sick of me pestering him now, but if anyone else wants to contact him and give him a polite, friendly nudge, just to show how keen we all are to preserve and play his game, please feel free! It would be such a shame if Bladedancer just drifted off and became a distant memory.

That would be fine by me. They're useless as they stand, it'd be nice to get SSD images.

Gah! Wow that is a shame!
Does anyone live near him? maybe they could collect them from him if he is too busy to post them?

Oh heck, don't tell me it's him doing the delivery. It's probably halfway up a cow's bottom or something... I'm fairly sure My Hermes are modelled on him.

Not really, but if you feel like it, maybe email the author and remind him you're standing by..?

I have a copy of Bladedancer. How much would it be worth on ebay?

My memories are that it was terribly slow.

Would you be prepared to let someone archive it?

Yes, absolutely.

I'm only interested in borrowing it to make a digital copy of it, for the archive. (Currently the game is MIA.)

Ah was gonna say it would be great if we could get it archived before being resold.

In fact, I actually tipped BillCarr off this morning about this post (which he hadn't seen) - he often makes offers for games that are higher than what you might get on eBay (especially as selling prices are down at the moment due to what's going on in the world).

Plus he archives everything to FSD and shares with the community; hence check your PMs as I think you should have an incoming message ...

If you were willing, you could send me the discs and I'd copy and preserve them and then return them to you.

So then you'd still be able to sell them, if you so wished.

It's being advertised on eBay.

Hope someone on here gets it (although the starting bid is pretty high).

So you're no longer interested in giving anyone on Stardot a chance to archive the disc(s) before you sell them?

That would be much appreciated by all. Would it be possible to get a 600dpi scan for our preservation archives?
