I think last time we (ABUG folks) boxed ourselves in to the car park behind, as we didn't need to leave by 5pm like the regular visitors. Pretty sure I left my car at the museum overnight last time. Are we getting to stay after hours again this time BTW?
I am dependent on leaving my car there as there is no parking at my hotel.

Hi,

Yes we can stay late Friday Saturday as per last year!

Parking is available but limited spaces.

It's all detailed in first post at top of this thread :-)

We'll probably order takeaway in to museum on Friday night.

I've booked the geldhart pub for meal on Saturday at 7.30

So has everywhere. Keep closing a120 and a12 in Essex. Right pain. I shall probably hire a helicopter.

There would have been more if the garage next door hadn't put a chain across their parking bays. When I spoke to Jason F about it he said he forgot to ask them to leave it open. If you are in contact with him before the weekend, you could remind him.

...Jason F tells me the chain is gone already :) So we have more space than last year for parking.

I'm hoping to bring a working version of the New AP5 to play with :D Note: It may NOT be fully working! Dave (hoglet) is working very hard to iron out some peculiarities with the 1MHz Bus synchronization, probably due to the speed of the CPLD.

The other thing I'll be doing is trying to work out the equations for the IdeAIN interface PLDs - manually! That should keep me quiet for a while :D

Ooooow! Yes please :D I'll bring some suitable cables - I don't have a working Beeb! Could someone loan us one for the weekend, please?

Semi related question.

I have bought my tickets to Acorn World event via Musuems website and have email confirmation. Should I get some tickets now? Via email or post? Or do I just turn up and they have a record. Perhaps I will give them a tinkle but thought it was worth asking.

They are pretty relaxed - show them the email on a phone or printout and you'll be fine, I'd think.

Printout? What is that? Is that like those things made from trees?

Phone email doable.

Thanks.

You of course have a schematic of the bit of the circuit that it's from? That would at least tell you what pins are inputs and outputs and if there are any external feedbacks (e.g. a combinational output wired externally to the clock input for any flipflops).

Sounds like a job for an Arduino board and a bit of C code.....

Cheers.

Valiant turtle belonging to Arcadian allong with Beeb containing logo roms, DFS and floppy drives. ***
Beeb Master with Co-pros, Datacentre BeebSID, BeebOPL etc
Atoms as normal.
Soldering / desoldering gear to do repairs etc.
Arduino mega + breadboard + cable.
Eprom / flash / AVR /CPLD / PIC programemrs.

I'll try and remember my monitor & keyboard this time !

Anything else anyone wants me to bring?

*** Dave, Jason you'll need to provide a monitor for this but somehow I don't see this as being a problem :) :)

Last year they had a list of names on the desk. So, obviously, I walked to the desk and announced as loudly as I possibly could "I'M NUDE LOONEY".

Good job I didn't name myself "hotlips 69" or something.

LUXURY ROOM AVAILABLE IN CAMBRIDGE HOTEL

Something has come up that means, sadly, I am now not able to attend. I am completely gutted about this - I haven't missed an ABUG meeting since I joined StarDot.

I had booked a prepaid on a no cancel basis, a King Room with Breakfast at the Cambridge Hilton. I paid the (eye-watering) sum of £322.30. It seems a pity for this room to go to waste. If anyone is interested, please PM me. I am not looking for anything like £300. Any vaguely reasonable offer will be accepted. Just don't want it to go to waste.

Hope you all have a good time. Post lots of pictures.

That's a shame, who is going to make all the noise now :D (I was looking forward to seeing/hearing the new noise maker)

See you at the next meeting.

I guess this means we have a space available -- so if anyone wants to come along last minute and have some table space, please drop a note here or PM me.

Will there be anybody coming who can get my Matchbox and/or PiTube up and running? I think the Matchbox needs somebody with better eyesight than me to solder a capacitor on it, I can't remember what stalled me getting the PiTube working.
