So, Simon, I have paid :)
Thanks! It's not strictly required to post that you've paid but it does help me ensure I attribute PAID tags to the right people. I've updated the list in the first post with all people who I think have paid, let me know if you've paid and I've not marked you as such.

Simon,

I've just paid as well (sorry I forgot to do this earlier).

I staying with family on Saturday night, so won't be available for the Curry or the Arcade event.

I'm also planning just being there for the Saturday and Sunday, not the Friday evening.

As this is my first event I don't want to upset anybody so....If I have an item to sell, say a RiscPC 600 with Acorn monitor, is it ok just to bring it along?

It appears to be a teletext adaptor by RH Electronics - completely untested but in reasonable nick as far as I can ascertain. Again, do please let me know via PMs if you'd like me to bring it along to Bolton with a view to a potential purchase:

That's an RH Electronics Video Digitiser, it's quite good really:

I wouldn't mind having a look at the documentation, I haven't seen it before.

I asked this before but didn't get an answer. Bringing my Atom is probably a bit clumsy at the airport. So I want to bring my 25 year old Atom-in-PC board. But I need a PC with an ISA slot and running MS-DOS. The best results are a minimum of 80x486 and a VGA screen. A CD-ROM drive is appreciate although I can bring some floppies with the necessary software.

Can someone bring such a computer to Bolton?

I can provide a P166 running MSDOS and an LCD monitor if that's any good?

A P166 is fine. One more thing: the Atom-in-PC board is 34cm long and full-height (10 cm). Does that fit in the pc's ISA slot?
O ... and please bring a mouse also. Thanks.

Ooh I don't know. It's a midi tower and I might not be able to check the measurements until the ABug weekend itself as the PC is already up in Bolton. Might be worth trying to source another PC from someone else and this one could be a backup...

You could unpack it from the case and run it on a bench.

Towers often have enough space for expansion boards. If somebody can bring another pc with the right specs Please post it here. I'll bring my board anyway and just hope for the best :D

Good morning,

I hope this won't be a problem considering the numbers, but would anyone be terribly put out if I moved my attendance from Saturday 19th to Sunday 20th, please? A family matter has arisen.

Thanks in advance, and apologies for any inconvenience caused. I'll be posting a final list in the next few days of things I'd be happy to bring to the event - in addition to the hardware mentioned previously, I think I'll have around 100 games and a few books for sale, plus some spare documentation/instructions, inlay cards, etc. free to a good home if anyone can make good use of them.

Bests,

Jeremy

The Whitby Winter Festival kicks off on Friday with a lantern parade that I'd said I would be in. It was only in pushing the brochures through letter boxes today that it finally twigged that this is the same day. For some reason I was certain the festival was the last weekend of November.

So, as I need to pick things up from Sheffield before going to Bolton, depending on events I may end up arriving Saturday morning instead of Friday afternoon.

If it's one of the retro machines I did for the first replay, then it should be fine.
I'll see if I can bring along a board with ISA, might have to be an Athlon / ATX, that shouldn't be a problem can bring a drive with DOS on so even if we run it up just naked on the bench :)

Cheers.

Phill.

Given the horror traffic I encountered coming up on the Friday last year, I am giving myself lots of time by coming up on Thursday. That being the case, what is the earliest we can come over to your building on Friday to start setting up?

After some negotiation, the unforeseen circumstance has now been overcome, so I should be there after-all on Saturday and Sunday.

Hello again,

Attached is the consolidated and classified list of stuff I shall be bringing (on Sunday instead of Saturday now, as per my previous post - Sydney, would it be possible to change that on the OP, please?)

The list is about 99% complete; I've got some more educational software to play-test between now and then if I get chance, and I'll add that to the list if I do. I've also got to dig up the manual for the printer from somewhere in the loft.

Very happy to answer any questions on the list's contents or receive any expressions of interests, though I probably won't check this thread again until tomorrow morning - I am actually writing this through the distorted gaze of a migraine attack because I'm stubborn/an idiot (delete as applicable)...

Requests of any games you'd like to be able to play on the day (absolutely not necessarily anything on the for sale list) most welcome also.

Happy browsing!

Your inexplicably loud speakers can be explic'd by the volume control pot near the speaker connector being turned up to maximum. Tweek it down a smidge.
