Making a hard drive bootable

Post by Kepler »

All,

Now that I have finally managed to format my CF card - yes, I just used a Sandisk - I was wondering what the benefits are of making it "Bootable" as that is one of the options present in !HForm?

All that does is essentially *OPT 4,2 to make the ROM run !Boot if it exists

As well as making the drive bootable, you may also need to set the machine configure options to actually get it to boot.

Code: Select all

*configure boot
(or noboot if you don't want it to auto boot anymore).

Having a bootable drive is iseful if yoiu have the uniboot structure installed, so it runs everytime you turn on the machine.
