List of machines that will run off 110V power?

Post by ThomasHarte »

Motivation for the question being that I'm an ex-pat, I'm trying to determine which of Acorn's 32-bit machines came with power supplies that would function with a 110V 60Hz input. Mostly by image searching I'm building up the guesses that: Can anyone confirm/deny on the A4000, or any other models?

Whilst they don't autorange, some can be reconfigured for 110v.

There are Risc PCs with a 110/240v switch on the PSU. Pretty sure I still have PSU with the switch.

Do you know where the switch is? Is it inside? I am taking my Acorn's back out to Texas with me, so would be handy switching the ones I can to 110v. If I can switch the A4000 and RISC PC, that would only leave the A5000, Master and B running on my step up transformer. The A4 does both which is handy.
BBC Master, BBC Model B, Electron, A5000, A4000, RISC PC, PIBridge, Piconet, and too many Raspberry PI's and now an A4 😁

The BBC B and many Masters can be easy adapted to run on 110V/120V.

Ahhhh, it's one of those types! I thought it might be like the A3000 thread where you take it apart and switch it over. Gotcha. None of mine are 110 then :-D. Thanks Ian!!

The A5000 PSU has a switch, so no need to run your machine on a transformer.

Awesome!! Is the switch inside the PSU? There is no switch on the back like what Ian showed above.

You have to remove the PSU from the Acorn A5000 case and you'll see the switch.

It's all that simple.
