Beeb Tube & Master Internal 2nd CPU Interface

Post by HJimbo »

Hi all,

Quick question does anyone know of have knowlege of a product that used the following:-

1. IRQ Interface of the Tube Port,as no 2nd CPU I can find uses it, they have a jumper just in case to enable.
2. Additional address lines A3-A6 of the tube the ULA chip does not use them.
2. The Beeb Master 8Mhz and IRQ line , same again no 2nd CPU I can find uses them.

where they as just in case and no ones has implement them using it, no 2nd CPU schematic seems to use them unless it another product that is not a 2nd CPU.

thks

The Acorn copro's don't use IRQ but the Torch Z80 does, and possibly the Casper 68000.

The Torch Z80 uses A0-A4.

Where's this 8MHz? If you mean 2MHz then again the Torch uses it for the 6522's.

The master internal tube connector does have 8MHz clock signal on it.

Thks

I had a WE copro years ago that sort of went missing, so I decided to make a pimped up version, with A0-A6 lines, The IRQ is required direction that is only required it Parrsite to Host I think it not bidirectional, with 3.3K resistor as a pull up to 5V to make sure, on the Parrasite side of the buffers.

It work with any old board and new ones etc.
