Not quite... Also non-Adelaide.

Interesting, that's not the normal printing for a serial number ticket either. I wonder if it was a typo on the first batch of labels, mistranscribed from handwriting. K becomes E, B becomes H, not that far away, and AEH was an existing prefix whereas AKB would have been new.IanJeffray wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 2:06 am Hmm. What's going on here then? This is an A3000. AEH01 doesn't appear in the list on Chris's Acorns and doesn't seem to "fit" in the scheme of codes either! (AEH are all Econet/Ethernet things).
A bit of a stretch, but yes, I see that AKB01 is a 'normal' serial for an A3000, so there could be something to this idea. Good shout on the label style too -- all odd.BeebMaster wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 1:43 pmInteresting, that's not the normal printing for a serial number ticket either. Probably this mad listing that keeps reappearing : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334120547866SarahWalker wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 5:42 pm Curiously that one's already in my database. Wonder where I ran into it before?
There's a reason I said "Keeps reappearing"BeebMaster wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:32 pm Wow, I have a boxed one of those, anyone want to give me £999.99 for it?
Well that definitely blows our understanding of Adelaide serial numbers completely apart. Is that absolutely definitely the original base for the machine? Previously, all known Adelaides had serial numbers 01-AGB15-101xxxx. ALC15 is a "Learning Curve" system, rather than the AGB15 "Family Pack".
If true then _some_ Learning Curve machines would be Adelaides, but probably not any obvious serial number range. So possibly AGB15 does have a specific range of Adelaide serial numbers, but the Learning Curve packs were put together by grabbing whatever machines were convenient?
I acquired it as a non-working machine quite a while ago. The nicad had leaked and I don't recall seeing any evidence of any prior servicing.IanJeffray wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 1:18 pmWell that definitely blows our understanding of Adelaide serial numbers completely apart. Is there a chance it wasn't in its original case then?atcurtis wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 1:31 pmI acquired it as a non-working machine quite a while ago.IanJeffray wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 1:18 pmWell that definitely blows our understanding of Adelaide serial numbers completely apart. Possible but it must have been done a very long time before I got it. I remember hearing a good crack sound when I undone the case screws for my first time.
Well well. Another Adelaide that's "non-AGB15" has appeared here ... 01-ALC15-0002783IanJeffray wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 1:18 pmWell that definitely blows our understanding of Adelaide serial numbers completely apart.
