Hello from Dorset, UK !

Hello from Dorset, UK !

Firstly, thank you to admin for the fast activation of my account.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a beeb... It a BBC Model B... Transformer has been solder reflowed and new capacitors fitted in the CPU and a sidewise ROM board. I been lurking on the forums for a while and learned about the Turbo MMC so now have one fitted.

I last was introduced to the beeb around 82/83 at Primary school. I remember learning how to tell the time back then thanks to a BBC program called 'clocks' and playing Granny's Garden.

Never had so much fun in ages ! I ditched the acorn BBC controllers (they don't recenter) and instead bought a Beeb to Atari joystick converter from monster joysticks so now we have a decent joystick finally.

The forum has been a valuable resource of information. Slowly working through the Beeb User Guide.

The Beeb was the first computer I used back in 82/83 whilst at Primary school. Secondary school continued to use them until 1989 when I saw my first Acorn Arcamedes. Then finally in 1986 I bought a ZX Spectrum 128. The Beeb brings back fond memories of my early childhood, and I look forward to refreshing my memory with programming the beeb again.
