Getting better, nowhere near my BITD scores. Took a break from building new issue 7 Beeb boards  damn I have all the parts except a 39pF capacitor - somehow I don't have any of those and I don't want to make a special order and there's no chance to visit old Harry Gee and have a paper bag of 39pF-ish caps slide over the counter for pennies.

Can't you use a slightly bigger quality cap in place of it? Nice score btw.....

Slight improvement, finally made it past 75m 3rd time around only to lose 3 quick lives on the next level...

My highest ever score on this. This game is just a massive random number generator in the latter stages. It's much more a matter of luck than skill on levels 2 and 4. Levels 1 and 3 are extremely easy as there's only one fireball to deal with.

Thanks. The 39pF cap links the colour burst signal to the base of Q9 via a 470R resistor and that provides the UHF colour video. I guess without it there wouldn't be any colour on the UHF output - not something I'm going to use, perhaps a bit of OCD on my part 🤪

A slight increase, keep making silly mistakes and still find Level 3 the most annoying - especially waiting for the fireball to get out of the way.

huge amount of luck on the other levels at times !

Wow! This is my highest ever score at this. Never got this far bitd.
To be fair, I had a very lucky game so I doubt I'll beat this, but you never know I guess.

The key to the HSC is you play the game often to improve your skills at it. My first few scores if you look at what I've posted were not brilliant the first few times but as I got more skilled I was consistently getting through level 1 with about 20k and 3 lives, sometimes 2. Anything less I generally started over, at least in the 2nd week. Round 2 isn't that much different than round 1 so the potential once you've learned how to get through round 1 you've got a good idea about how to do round 2. Round 3 is faster, harder and jumping is an adventure.....but......I've been to the 4th screen on round 3 so it can be done as other scores show this is true.

It's basically practice and learn. If you don't play fairly often to get the 'rhythm' of the game you won't get a very high score. No real secret, just play more.

High Score Tables Updated for Season 22, Round Two......

This game is a real classic that's pretty enjoyable. I found it sometimes annoying that when I wanted to jump and move sideways, it sometimes just jumped straight up in the air and ......resulted in a lost life.

Again, we have a winner and that is Venger . Congratulations on an excellent score and win Venger. =D> =D>

On a side note I'd like to thank all those who played this round. We had 10 playing this game this round so.....Thank you!!! It seems we are mostly averaging out at 11 so this participation is a bit below average.

As usual please check to ensure I've not missed anyone's scores because it's easy to miss things on this and I really don't want to do that for anyone's hard earned score.

There are also videos on YouTube. I make videos of some of my runs sometimes. I have a Killer Gorilla video on YouTube which sees me score in the low 80 thousands.
