Strange printing error

I have recently bought a second hand copy of this book: https://archive.org/details/colourtelev ... c/mode/2up

Right at the start it discusses colour and dividing a colour image into primary colours and colour separations. In the copy I have some of the printed pages are missing the black colour separation, so the text is missing and there are some coloured items in empty space.

The scan on archive.org above does not have this fault. Does anyone else have this book. Have I just been unlucky?
