Epson FX-890 - Has anyone used one with an 8 bit Acorn Machine? FIXED

As the title says . . . I have an Epson FX-890 but it doesn't seem to work. Tried it with Electrons and Masters. Buzzed-out the cable and all seems OK. Using via the Centronics input.

I note it has a USB input so and alternative would be a Contronics to USB adapter or Centronics to DB25 adapter. Again anyone had any experience with these?

Wondering out loud...

Is it possible autodetect isn't working properly?

I would consider changing the default values so I/F mode is Parallel (defaults to Auto) and Parallel I/F bi-di mode is off (defaults to on), and maybe so that packet mode is off (defaults to auto).
