QWAK! NuLA Edition

Post by sbadger »

Hi,

I've finished another NuLA mod and am pleased to release it here.
It's a 16 colour conversion of the Jamie Woodhouse game QWAK!, originally published by Superior Software as part of Play it again Sam 10 around 1989.

Good grief it's a difficult game!, but super smooth and nice flicker-free action.

New loading screen from the Amiga artwork, There shouldn't be any bugs as I've not altered game logic. Though I have worked out most of the level data format, so new set of levels or a level designer should be possible. Seems to work well in b2 and B-Em, and thanks to Tom Seddon for trying it on his real hardware NuLA.

I don't know this game but it looks great with NULA - very much like an Amstrad CPC game with those colours. Also using the Amiga version of the loading screen is inspired! I look forward to giving it a go. Good work. =D>

Looks amazing, well done =D>

Always wished the beeb had a darker shade of the mode 2 colours which could have been used instead of flashing, would have made for much richer game graphics but educational programs would have also benefited.

NuLA rocks!

The extra colours do make it look so much better!

Just imagine how good Sabre Wulf would look with this treatment? [-o<

Awesome! Looks great, and that title screen is amazing! I never saw this game back in the day - looking forward to giving it a try, though I don't currently have any emulator which supports NuLA :(

Wow - this looks amazing :D =D>

Like other on here, I never came across Qwak! BITD but as you've said, the original already looked impressive with colourful sprites and flicker-free movement. This takes it to another level though :D

This is one of my favourite games on the Amiga and I can't wait to give it a go on my Master! Even though it was a budget release from Team 17 what made it for me was pressing F10 on the title screen enabled the keyboard and my best high score was just over 163,000,000 - I played it quite a bit.
