The earliest Archimedes 305 machines came with 512k of RAM as standard. Most machines have more than that, and most game authors from back in the day seem to have considered a 1MB machine to be incredibly limiting. That said, it is possible to run Lander with 512k, so I'd be interested to know if there are many other games that would work on such a machine.
The ArcEm sources also reference the idea of having 256k of RAM, which isn't provided in any stock RISC OS machines. Is this possible on real hardware, and what's possible with such a small amount?

It is - 256K is what RISC OS defaults to if it thinks the RAM's failed / can't detect the size. You should find the OS boots as normal.ccawley2011 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 5:32 pm Is this possible on real hardware, and what's possible with such a small amount?
