They did indeed ... though every once in a while they did manage to get it right! ;)

Oh well, if you want to be bored to tears, I was asked by a retro gamer to join in a tag that I was initially reticent about joining ... which is why all the inane chatter at the end is gaming decision focused.

As my Acorn cave seems to have evolved somewhat I thought I'd resurrect this old thread with a few more photos of my new desk and layout. The desk is actually a cast off from my wife who has bought another IKEA desk, I do like IKEA desks :D

Old desk with a bit more space now.

New desk with a new 32 bit stowaway.

And the whole thing in one photo, including my Atom and Electron which usually (until I feel the need to have a play) live under the old desk with my other Beebs.

Just need a squirrel now, or maybe I am a squirrel, now there's a thought

Now that's way too neat Martin. I'll have to take some photos of my workshop . . . a bit different

Ahhh, it's so good to hear people's opinions with a similar mentality to myself (especially the geek porn bit =D>), my wife thinks I'm nuts

It's not bad really for a room that's only about 10ft square.

And yes I may be a bit obsessive compulsive .... does nobody else make sure things are lined up on tables, like magazines etc against the edges as they pass by :?:

Here's the other end of the Acorn cave, the "library" :)

A lot of this would not have been possible without the help of this community (especially Mark) so please accept my heart felt gratitude, as I think we're all really big kids at heart =D>

BTW this was the start of my obsession ....

I have made a mistake!
I am clearing out when all I actually needed was a bigger room and some IKEA desks #-o

I can't find the desks on their website any more, they are very old and we may have bought them in the States, pretty good though with the mesh underneath.

Here's another "better" picture of my cassettes (obsessive, who me )

Probably not quite as good as those shelves I saw a while back on the wall for displaying them, but there's more room behind them for other Acorn things

Making your room bigger may be the biggest challenge though, although I find it's amazing what you can do with a sledge hammer if you put your mind to it

Like your style, Martin. =D>

I have a room about the same size. Problem is it has a bed, wardrobes and clothes drawers in it. Now if they weren't there ....?

Does anyone know the maximum loading that a 19 inch rack shelf can take?

You'll be fine with most of that lot Mark, although the ZX81 may suffer a nervous breakdown being amongst such Acorn & Extron kit!

It was, he’s a very nice bloke, the software mostly comes from the States, there are some people in the UK who have/had them though … few and far between.
