Elite type game that never left Beta

Hi All,
Firstly i appologize for this very rough and very un-descriptive "description". But when I had an A5000 many many years ago and frequented certain BBS's (names escape me) some body offered people to beta test his Elite type game, I paid and received disks, manual, box, all well designed. Does anyone remember anything about this?, the title?, etc. I can't actually remember if it was any good or awful (besides ofcourse not remembering the title or any details...)
